Very pleasant staff. Excellent food and a nice location. The hotel was close to shops and restaurants. I enjoy walking, so I found walking along the river relaxing. I would definitely go back if I visit Merano again.

Fabulous location, right on the river walkway, gorgeous views. Stayed in the suite with a lovely, river facing terrace. The room was recently redecorated in super modern white. Bidet, great shower and fun tv on the ceiling! Breakfast was great in a well appointed restaurant. Yes, we did here some noise from the bar downstairs, but we knew that when... More

If you want to be in the middle of Merano, the Aurora has the best location, at the entrance to the pedestrian area and right on the bank of the river. The hotel itself is fine and my room (a so-called designer room) was modern and well furnished. The public areas were fine too. The open plan bar area and... More

We stayed in a design room - in itself the room was ok, spacious enough and clean. But the rest of the hotel is so poor, it doesn't work at all. The tatty red carpet in the dark hallway, the reception stuffed full of grotty old furniture, the faint smell of cigarette smoke throughout all combine to make this an... More

Dear Mr. Havard, First of all we thank you for having dedicated your time to us and for having written a review on our Hotel Aurora. We are glad to hear that you liked our rooms, that you found them spacious enough and clean. Regarding to the smoke you supposedly smelled, we would like to specify that we are a... More

I've read many opinions about this hotel, some so happy and some so unhappy...I feel in the middle. Let's start from the "lights": - the position couldn't be better, right on the promenade, Christmas Markets just over the door and Therms across the bridge - breakfast rich, some local tastes (spek and cheeses) and oranges for "self-service" juice (great) plus... Wow this brings back memories. I went to hotel aurora a few times , and it is wonderful. Staff: Very friendly , speak english , italian , and some german. Food: Simply delicious Rooms: They suddenly refurbished SOME rooms into this funky modern style,, which is bad, but their normal rooms are nice and cozy , and the view alone... More

I came to Merano a couple of days ahead of my husband, so stayed in a smaller back-facing room the first two nights. For one person it was fine. The view still included the high mountains that are so breathtaking in that direction. However, I sensed this room would be uncomfortably small for the two of us, and the bathroom... More

The hotel is being advertised as a design hotel. Our room had nothing in common with the rooms one could see on the hotel site - a small room furnished in the style of the 60s - indeed a very original idea how to turn a partially refurbished hotebll into a design hotel. On which basis was the 4 star rating... More

Dear Ms Jelle, we thank you for having found the time to leave a comment about our hotel. With pleasure we can clear some points and explain the reasons. We do not call our hotel a „design hotel“, as we have different kind of rooms: we have our „vintage“ rooms which are classical, and we have some „special“ rooms which... More

The Aurora is right in the centre of Merano, overlooking the fast-flowing river. If you've never been to Merano and love views of high mountains, get there as soon as you can. It's a lovely, uplifting place with thermal springs and of course clean mountain air. The Aurora is a modern hotel with exccellent facilities - underground car parking, really... More

This is a traditional hotel that appears to be transitioning to a hip modern place and we were very lucky to stay here! We arrived in Merano at a surprisingly busy time with no reservations and were so mortified at the hotels we saw (around the 130 Euro per night range), we almost left town. Then we tried the Hotel...
