We had one of the tower suites, consisting of three rooms: large bathroom, bedroom, sitting room, and a huge balcony overlooking the apple orchard and valley below. We have stayed for a week in Castel Fragsburg and we have never regretted our decision to book this hotel. The service and staff are fantastic, the owners just very friendly and the restaurant superb. Beautiful beautiful hotel, bedroom fantastic size, with small balcony overlooking the mountains, small seperate reading area and spacious bathroom (for Italy!)....the view from the restaurant / bar is fantastic, mountains, mountains more mountains and the town of Merano below. We stayed at Castle Fragsburg for three nights the stay was wonderful. The room was a good size with a possible one of the most stunning views possible from a hotel. Breakfasts are very generous; the chef will cook what ever you want for breakfast. There is also a good selection of fruit, cereals, bread (all home made) and juices.... more

Merano is a specticular little town, well located to explore the Sud Tirolean mountains. Castle Fragsburg is the perfect place to stay...gracious people, just exceptional food, extremely clean room with dramatic views of the town and surrounding valleys.
