I've been staying at the marconi hotel many times. The hotel is not walking distance from the centre but the transportation connection with it are definitely many and easy. I stayed at this hotel with my wife for a night. It's a nice place, we faced no problems with service, room or anything else. A good point to start a trip to Venice.

It was a nice little hotel in proximity to Venice. Hotel had good pub/restaurant. Rooms are properly sized, bathrooms are in good conditions. This hotel is a 30-minute bus-ride from the centre (but make sure you check the buses run all the way as we ended up stranded a couple of miles away on a Sunday night).
