The grounds are nice, but the wait staff in the restaurant were the rudest I have ever encountered in my life. Tired rooms that are fusty, outrageous restaurant prices, but they have a captive audience as its miles from anywhere, and they know it. No concierge to speak of. We stayed in June and found the grounds to be beautiful to wander. We were there over a weekend and there were 3 wedding parties at that time that take over part of the courtyard but it was fascinating to watch a real Italian wedding with costumed plays etc. (though they were noisy!). Forget all the tacky and expensive hotels in Venice. if you are looking for class and elegeance, this hotel will take your breathe away. Impeccable service handled by well trained professionals very customer orientated. If you book a room, make sure you get one in the main "villa" building as they are much more charming than the others. more
