This unassuming hotel has the location, with St Marks about 5 minutes stroll away. It's not too difficult to find if you have the street number – so keep it to hand when you arrive. Easy to find (print off the details on their website), very handy for Saint Mark's Square and many great restaurants and bars, but not noisy. Set on a lovely canal, if you're lucky you'll have great views of the canal and the gondaliers preparing their gondalas in the morning. Breakfast in the small breakfast room is satisfactory. more

The only problem with this hotel is finding it! Grafitti on exterior walls and no name/sign, just the address number. This is a recently opened hotel with traditional Venetian décor. We had booked a ‘superior’ room, which was well worth the extra cost for the space and view, and represented value for money. There was highly efficient air-conditioning which permitted sleep at the front of the building where some motorised boats pass. The shower room was smaller than those pictured... more
