The Danieli was built as the Gothic Palazzo Danolol and has been the leading hotel in Venice since 1820.Many of the walls are off kilter. The stairs in the wing of the Daneili are so crooked the carpet on the stairs is deceivingly like a barber pole. This hotel (Danieli) is an ancient, (well, will you go for old?) villa,... more

Remarkable and luxurious, Hotel Danieli is made up of three beautiful Venetian palazzi dating back to the 14th, 19th, and 20th Centuries, featuring hand-made Murano glass chandeliers, precious rugs, hand-carved marble columns, and many original antique pieces. 20th century Palazzo Danieli Excelsior was refurbished in 2008, the redesign of its interiors entrusted to renowned design architect Jacques Garcia. We stayed in the main building which is a piece of history (14th century palace). The interior is amazing and worth a visit even if you're not staying there. The lobby area is great. The location is fantastic (just a stones throw from Piazza San Marco). The rooms are decorated in antique venetian style and the shuttered windows open onto... more

Absolutely perfect. Staff were attentive, friendly & polite, food and service in restaurant second to none, wonderful view whilst enjoying breakfast. The Danieli has so much charm and character, our room was tastefully decorated and loved the fact they even provided slippers with hotel logo. Definately worth saving up for, made our first trip to Venice truely memorable. more

Though the hotel is very convenient to San Marco, I did not like the location. I did not like stepping out of a luxury hotel into the masses. Doges Palace was lovely. Dinners at The Gritti Palace and Fortuny at Cipriani were wonderful due to the unique atmosphere. Our junior suite on the lagoon was in need of updating. Expensive!... more

We stayed at the hotel Danieli for 3 nights in September '09. Here's a brief summary of our stay: - As we somewhere expected, there was a lot of people. We however didn't expect the amount that there was and didn't expect it to be pretty much all day & night. - Hotel does NOT have an iron for you... more

Well, there are fore sure certains hotels around the world that everybody want to visit one day... and to me the Danieli is part of those mythics hotels in which I wanted to stay once. If the rooms (deluxe) are okay with a small terrasse, it's not that clean; expecially the bathrooms. To my the worst experience was at the... more

We re just back from a 3 nights . If you re looking for the location, the hotel is perfect(if you like the busy and noisy ambiance of Venice). We booked for a deluxe room with terrace. But when we entered into the room, it was in the old part of the hotel which has not been renovated for ages... more
