Stayed three nights here and although the staff were friendly and attentive enough the Bauer Hotel a couple of blocks down on the canal is far better. We have just returned from a delightful three night stay at this super hotel. Our room was comfortable, impeccably clean and had everything we required. The building itself is beautiful, with lovely reception rooms upstairs (for receptions etc, but we just had a wonder-around) and rather stylish with dark, moody decoration in the Reception area. The first room we were given was not what we had made a reservation for. Once we got the second room, things were much better. The shower was great! The outdoor restaurant right on the Grand Canal was definitely worth it. Beware of the "old" part of the hotel. Some of it had been renovated, other parts had not... more
