Arrive to freezing weather in Venice. Pleasantly surprised at finding a warm room, VERY big and comfortable bed and a GREAT shower (after having some truly awful bathroom experiences elsewhere this was much appreciated. The staff spoke good English and couldn't be too helpful with advice. Be wary of the 'free' trip to Murano as this takes you in a... more

We stayed here for two nights in December with our two daughters (20 &22). It was simply perfect. The Hotel Reception were warm, friendly and very helpful and the concierge was extremely knowledgeable regarding Venice, and EXTREMELY helpful with some inside knowledge regarding where to eat. If you are looking for some good Venetian food take my advice .. Don't... more

This property is having a serious identity crisis; i booked it as a M label, however given everything from letter heads, to the sign above the door say Sofitel then I'm sorry but i expect sofitel service. This is the second time Accor has let me down and i have to say its just not good enough. Even if it... more

During my research for hotels in Italy it was tripadvisor which provided me with the choice that I made of staying in the Sofitel Venice. Please do not misunderstand me the hotel was in an excellent location for walking to main train station. If you were like us travelling throughout Italy using the Eurostar Italia trains. As previously mentioned by... more

This was our second trip to Venice. We were delighted with the Papadopoli Venezia(but everything still says Hotel Sofitel). The staff was very engaging (particularly Stephano at the front desk). The location is close to the train station and water taxi (preferred way to get around Venice if not walking) so getting around requires walking, but Venice is a city... more

This hotel is very easy to find from Piazza le Roma so saves on the dragging suitcases over the many bridges. It is also away from the crowds in the city centre and has the benefit of being in an area that contains good quality reasonably priced restaurants. The rooms are of good size and well equipped and our bed... more

Perfect location in a wonderful city. Lobby, staff, restaurant were all fine. But the OLD rooms are just that, beat up & battered. Demand! a redone one and away from the street side. more

I booked this hotel when it was owned by the Sofitel chain as I have really enjoyed staying in their hotels in the past. However, by the time we arrived it had changed hands and is now known as Hotel Papadopoli apparently - although even my bill at the end of the stay still said Hotel Sofitel. It therefore has... more
