In December 2023, I had the privilege of staying at the St. Regis Venice. After working in the hotel industry for the last 20 years, I have experienced many hotels stays - some good, some bad, some incredible. My night at the St. Regis definitely ranked amongst the best stays I've ever had in my life. Before I arrived at the hotel, I used the Marriott mobile app to communicate with the front desk asking them for advice on restaurants and other things to do while in Venice. They were so attentive to my needs and provided fantastic travel advice that we used to plan the two days we were there. I used one of my suite award nights with Bonvoy to get a one bedroom suite, which the hotel then upgraded again to Grand Canal facing after I explained how much it would mean to my friend who was with me (his first time in Venice). When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and warmth and a hotel that was both historic and modern all at the same time. Everything was gorgeous - the Christmas lights were perfection, the decor, everything. We were then escorted to our room and WOW, it blew us away. I have stayed at Hotel Danieli and Palazzo Gritti and still the St. Regis wowed me even more. The view of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute across the canal was insane...what a sense of place! Like being in a movie. The suite was gorgeous, every inch of it a thoughtful curation of lighting and colors. And the Aqua di Parma toiletries were a perfect touch. Also wanted to note how friendly and helpful Agnese was during our stay - she sent several handwritten notes to our room that delighted us and made us smile. After seeing the suite, we went out to explore the rest of the hotel and this is when we were introduced to Chiara, the hotel's Front Desk Manager. I started my career in the Ritz-Carlton and have come to expect a certain level of stuffiness from that brand. St. Regis, however, surprised me with its warmth and welcomeness. Chiara was a ray of sunshine, honestly could have talked with her for hours. She took the time to show us the hotel, gave us advice on what to get while staying there (the hotel's signature Bloody Mary is a must) and ultimately made us feel like we were home. The next day, we had the breakfast buffet which came with my Bonvoy status. It was one of the most incredible breakfasts of my life! Everything you could imagine was there. When we left breakfast, we were admiring the beautiful chandelier in the lobby when a woman approached us. She explained the decor and how the room was laid out. I then asked what she did at the hotel and she said, "I'm the General Manager." Wowzers. A GM who takes the time to talk to some guests about the hotel's design? I couldn't believe it. I was so wowed by the experience and cannot wait to go back. It was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.

This property is fantastic in all elements of the experience. From the outstanding staff to the beautifully designed and maintained rooms, this property is excellent. I stayed in the off season for Venice and many properties would drop their service levels out of peak, this is not the case here. Prior to arrival, I had an issue with my suite upgrade request as a Titanium bonvoy member (through no fault of the hotel) and even still, the front desk processed an upgrade which was very good of them. A lovely welcome gift was also provided. The rooms themselves are beautifully designed and maintained, are they on the smaller side? Yes, but you are also staying in a building that was built in 1895 on the grand canal in Venice so I’m not sure what other reviewers are expecting when it comes to size complaints… Gio’s restaurant has a fantastic champagne breakfast offering and is a good option for dinner too. The bar staff at Gio’s are also excellent when it comes to their hospitality, I can’t recommend them highly enough. Finally the butler team are the stand out performers at this property. Led by Mariacristina they are experts at dealing with any scenario, I had an issue with my taxi transfer from the property to which they of course recovered in an impeccable manner. I can’t wait to return to this property and recommend to anyone looking for the highest levels of hospitality in Venice.

5 stars is insufficient to describe this hotel. It was our 50th wedding anniversary on the 12th January and we decided to revisit Venice out of season when it was not teaming with too many tourists. I don’t know whether we had special attention because of our anniversary or whether this is the norm for this hotel which ever it is, it was very much appreciated. One thing is certainly not standard is the provision of heart-shaped balloons in our bedroom when we came back from dinner. What a lovely touch, not needed and not expected. It was the little touches that impressed me. On one occasion we asked for some croissants for breakfast without being covered in sugar which seems to be the norm in Italy. The following day there was a bowl of croissants without sugar on our table. The hotel never needed to be asked for anything it was anticipated based upon our preferences for the previous day. This is so usual and was very much appreciated. Thank you all at the hotel for giving us a wonderful 4 days and we will certainly be back. I can without reservation recommend the St Regis in Venice.

Our experience at the St. Regis was outstanding, late September to October, for 7 nights. I am Ambassador Elite with Marriott and was generously upgraded to a Suite prior to arrival. I had stayed here when the hotel was the Westin Europa and Regina 22 years prior. But Marriott did a tremendous job renovating and creating a gorgeous hotel. I have owned and worked in a travel agency for over 30 years, so I have a great deal of experience learning about and booking hotels for our clients. Despite some very serious competition from the Danieli and the Gritti Palace, the St. Regis offers the best experience in my estimation. Its location is just about perfect, from its quiet unobtrusive almost hidden entrance, to the private pier and boat dock, the Grand Canal location is almost unmatched. It's only about a 5 minute walk from Piazza San Marco and surrounded by designer shops and boutiques, if that interests you. The hotel is an oasis of modern elegance - luxe without being snobby. The modern decor breaks with the tradition of hotels that feature 19th century furnishings, making the experience luxurious yet very comfortable. Italian furniture design is among the finest in the world, and here it was a showplace, both in our room and public spaces. We had a view over the city which was lovely. I would not have cared if we had a canal view. Who wants to stay in your room when you can have breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening right on the Grand Canal with a stunning one of a kind view, and with attentive, polite and friendly servers? Everywhere, we were greeted as recognized guests each day, and the staff was professional without being overly effusive and fawning. To those here complaining about the water taxi prices, I think you are seriously misguided if you think the expense was too high. The water taxis are private, meaning it is not shared with others. You literally get picked up or dropped off at the hotel's private dock and greeted by the Butler/Concierge staff. Have you priced private car service in the city where you live? I live about 20 minutes from Atlanta's airport, and a private car service runs about $120 for me for a uniformed driver and a town car or SUV. 150 euros for a private water taxi to the airport? Bear in mind that that's the cost of the boat and transfer, not per person. If it were 6 people traveling, it would be the same price. Also, do you have any idea how expensive it is for fuel for those water taxis? This was a bargain. If you can't afford it, that's fine. There are plenty of shared options that would require you to walk the streets to get to the hotel. I want to personally thank Mr. Leonardo G. for his generosity and hospitality for one of the nicest hotel stays I have experienced in all my travel years. And many thanks to the hotel staff for their professionalism and friendliness and courtesy during our stay.

I stayed at the St. Regis Venice in November 2022, which offered great value with modern amenities at a reasonable price. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I was delighted with a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite and welcomed with treats and champagne. The junior suite was spacious with a luxurious bathroom, though the bed was two singles joined together. The service was excellent, quick and comparable to other St. Regis hotels in Asia renowned for their hospitality. The breakfast at the hotel had limited choices but was delicious, best enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. The location is perfect, close to attractions and luxury shops. However, getting there from the airport can be challenging; I recommend the hotel’s boat transfer for convenience. Overall, St. Regis Venice is a top choice for its exceptional service and prime location, making it a standout in European luxury hotels.

St Regis Venice is located in a secluded yard, with a private water canal entrance (for water taxis). 6mins walk to St Mark Square and 2mins walk to shopping streets. Welcome drink choice of Prosecco or Belini. St Regis suite comes with Frette linens (slippers and robes), Acqua Di Parma toiletries and St Regis facial products. Underwhelming butler service. We didn't get to meet our butler throughout the stay, no personalized service. You could request for hot coffee and tea from Butlers that we only knew through reading TA reviews. Exquisite breakfast menu. Semi buffet style with buffet items (including Belini and Prosecco) and an ala carte all you can order menu. A special call out to Christiano. He was truly the gem of the breakfast service team! Christiano is attentive to needs, and always checking on us with a lovely smile on his face. Thank you Christiano! Ps: Nearest water bus station (S.Maria del Giglio) is a 6-min walk. Take line 1 from Santa Lucia station Ferroria E.

I apologize for the late review. I travelled to this property in September with my elderly parents. None of us had ever been to Venice. May I say , As a LifeTime Platinum , we have never been treated so Special ! My heart still pumps With joy just remembering what a fantastic time we had. We arrived by private taxi thru the hotel , and immediately greeted with a warm Italian welcome. Their they informed us that they had upgraded both room Including the best suite in the house Overlooking the Duomo right on the water. My mother cried and still tells Me daily it was a trip of her lifetime (76) . The staff and property deservedly have my upmost respect. I will be forever grateful ! Special thanks to Marco at the concierge for being such a kind and wonderful help. Aloha from hawaii !
