I stayed at the Continental Hotel Venice while on an Insight Italian Escapade Tour. I was travelling alone. Room was size of my walk in closet with hard bed, bad linens, broken safe and step up to bathroom. No hot water or air conditioning for the two days and long nights I was there. Hotel felt dirty. Buffet breakfast was... more

I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant lobby and professional staff that welcomed me promptly and efficiently. I was led to a small room that was clean and sufficient for my one night stay. The bed was firm and comfortable. One thing that should be changed is the shower which due to the low basin, spilled water all over the... more

Stayed for two nights at a great rate for a single room facing the canal. Friends stayed in a beutiful large room for 1 night facing the canal for under 150 Euros! This hotel has a great location close to the Ferrovia (Railway Station) and the Piazella Roma. Just steps from the Ghetto district which is less busy and has... more

:The hotel is very nice, close to the train station on the Grand Canal. We booked two rooms and one wasn't ready for us at 2 in the afternoon but that was a minor thing. However, they recommended a restaurant to us, Poloveto, not sure exactly of the name, that was absolutely terrible and a complete ripoff. If the hotel... more

We stayed here for our three nights in Venice. The staff were friendly both on reception and in the restaurant (which, I would recommend). Then you go up to the room......................................... Awful! Very poor. The beds, furniture and decor are all in need of replacement and, a good clean wouldn't go amiss. The location isn't great. It's not near St... more

If you're arriving by train at Santa Lucia Railway Station or need to depart for Marco Polo Airport from Piazzale Roma (bus depot), this 500 year old hotel is hard to beat for location. It is situated right on the Grand Canal and offers incredible charm in this beautiful city. The rooms were nicely appointed and full of charm. It... more

This is a lovely hotel set in the centre of Venice between St Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge. It is in a quiet square and has an old fashioned atmosphere. The staff are great and very helpful. The room was on suite (it was small) overlooking the square. more

I am a single traveller and I was looking for a cheap basic hotel in Venice in early November, so I did a google search before I came to the city, and I booked this hotel since it looked to be adequate and all that I needed. When I stayed in Venice the first time, a month earlier, it was... more

This is a decent and for Venice not expensive hotel in a convenient location near both the train and bus stations. As Venice is not that quick to get around, I would recommend a base near the station for easy access to all forms of public transport. I expected the area round the station to be a bit seedy, especially... more

We were staying only one night in Venice so weren't looking for anything fancy. One of the tourist agencies at the train station recommended this place. It's conveniently close to the station. We had a room on the ground floor overlooking the canal. The bathroom had no tub, shower only, but not a problem for us. Breakfast was satisfactory. So... more
