After a lot of research on hotels in Venice, I settled on the Abbazia. When we got there and saw the place, we were absolutely thrilled. The location is super convenient - practically next door to the train station and a vaporetto stop. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. The arrangement of the hallways is a little strange, but once... more

It is located only 5 minutes from the train station without the need to go on a water taxi / bus. Room is very small, but with everything you need. Breakfast is bad with very impolite staff. more

Finally writing as life stays all too busy! Would and did invite all staff to our home in California as they added to the hotel's character as well as were tremendously helpful. The room with full bathrm (shower brand new) was charming and quite clean (and I am tough about this aspect). The bells are as delightful as the staff... more

Our stay at this hotel was memorable. From registering with Fabio and getting the run down on where to go, to the fabulous breakfast and wonderfully hospitable and friendly front desk team of Aluise and Mirko. The nicest people we met on our trip. I would strongly recommend this hotel, which is located steps away form the Venice train station... more

This hotel is an old abbey, located on an alleyway around the corner from the train station and a short walk (over the new bridge) to the bus depot. A few steps over a bridge in the other direction and you have walking access to all of Venice, or hop on a boat at the foot of the bridge. The... more

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past couple of years and have had a great experience both times. It is extremely close and convenient to both the train station and the car rental area. I would recommend that you map it out beforehand though because it is on a tiny alley-like street that is easy to miss.... more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our honeymoon. Really charming decor in a renovated monastery - quaint little courtyard in the center with comfy seating and plants - nice romantic setting. It is literally on the first street after the train station - very easy to walk to even with several bags -... more

This hotel is charming, in a quiet calle minutes away from the hustle and bustle. The staff are so pleasant and helpful, the breakfast pretty good (though absolutely terrible coffee), but the main outstanding feature is its proximity to the train station - literally a one-minute walk. For those planning to take the train around Italy, closeness to the stations... more

We stayed at the Abbazia the night before our cruise, and for three days afterward. The location is excellent: when you are exhausted from an overnight flight, it's very close to the bus terminal bringing you from the airport, and it is steps away from the vaperettos (water buses). The desk staff speaks English very well, and are extremely helpful.... more

The hotel is clean and a soild 3 star hotel. I loved that it was close to the train station (within walking distance) so no need to take a ferry. It is a bit further from the main attractions (St Marks square) but really Venice is so small you can walk everywhere within a few minutes so not that big... more
