I got to stay one night here because of over-booking at its sister hotel (Abbazia de luxe). The interior was nice and it does look like nice place to stay. However, one of the service staff was not very friendly and when I asked for some warm water, he made some sarcastic remarks. I also asked if I can switch... more

Very close to train station. Cute room but "A/C" would not let you cool the room to a temperature below 27 celsius. The tub had a shower hose. Difficult to use. The staff was very nice. The price for Venice was good so I would recommend. more

This nice little hotel is only a few hundred metres away from the Santa Lucia train station. Don't even have to cross a bridge! Love the location. The staff is friendly. The breakfast delicious. All the cured meats, cheese and eggs you can eat. The room is nice and clean, although the double room can be a tad small. The... more

This hotel is in a great location, and the front desk couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating (Mirko and Matteo were standouts), they instantly told us to leave our bags in the lobby for them to bring up to our room for us, and they patiently and cheerfully answered all of our questions and gave great suggestions. When we... more

Don't be put off by the outside (up a back alley, looks a bit grim), the interior is beautifully and tastefully renovated from the friary it used to be. The room was large, spacious and airy, but my favourite bits were the bar (complete with pulpit) and the courtyard garden. If I had to be picky, I'd say they could... more

Extremely friendly service at reception. Spotlessly clean room, though unfortunately not with a view over the lovely courtyard garden. Best selling point is the location, which is easy walking distance from where the airport bus drops you at Piazzale Roma and close to the station (though we could not hear any trains). Hotel itself is lovely with a wonderful bar... more

Perfect location. Charming hotel. Restful. It was too hot and we requested the thermostat adjusted and had to listen to a lecture on demanding Americans!! If I ignore this individual, I will recommend this hotel. Just know that if you need the room to be very cool with no humidity, you may want to stay elsewhere in the very hot... more

Our three air conditioning machines are dated 2008 year and have been installed, at the state of the art , in July 2008. As our Guests say, they work very well also for "american standards" and have already been switched on at the beginning of April in the spring time. The word "rudeness" doesn't exist in our vocabulary... Alvise Vianello,...

Besides the location and the breakfast, there is nothing else great about this hotel. it is over priced and the shower stall was very small. A lot of things are old about this hotel. Concierge was not very helpful. more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Abbazia for four nights at the very end of Oct. 2008. We were spending 3 weeks in Europe and these were our last nights in Italy. Out of every place we stayed, this was my absolute favorite hotel. We chose to splurge a bit here and had more bargain types the rest of... more

Soooo would recommend this place because of the location alone. You can always find your way back "home", where that isn't always the case if you stay ON the island....yet you are close to everything. We shared the HUGE HUGE quad room with friends (one oversized, lumpy king and two twins--well spread apart), and it was, as I said--HUGE and... more
