The stay was delightful: the tasteful refurbishment of this 14th century palazzo set the tone nicely for the carnevale events nearby, in the piazzas, streets and churches. The many students around were lively and well-behaved, the architecture interesting. Although the focus of the main celebrations was inevitably St Mark's square, we enjoyed the events more local to the hotel. more

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to joining a cruise out of Venice to Rome. The hotel was chosen for it's close proximity to the cruise liner terminal, where we departed for our Windstar cruise. Just got back. Stayed two nights for 180 euros a pop. Expensive, considering the exchange rate, but the location was perfect. It's a residential area of Venice, just down the block from the Grand Canal and perfect spot. The hotel is really neat building. Built in the 1400s - so it's got amazing character. This was a surprise holiday for my 40th birthday and I'm glad I didn't know I was staying at Hotel Pausania before I left because some reviews are pretty bad.
