We have just returned from an Italian holiday covering Bologna, Venice and Tuscany, staying 4 nights at the Bartolomeo while in Venice. What a brilliant location - just a short walk away from the Rialto bridge yet quiet at night. What we hadn't realised is that Rialto is one of the locations signposted from just about anywhere (along with St.Marks... more

A friend and I just returned from a trip to Italy and while in Venice, we stayed at the Hotel Bartolomeo. We had arrived by train and then took the vaporetto to the Rialto stop. It was a fairly short walk to the hotel through the campo San Bartolomeo. There were signs posted to help find the hotel. It is... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The place was close to Rialto Bridge, but through dark and hidden streets. Biggest problem was number of stairs to climb (we were at the top), no fridge or view. Bit claustrophobic., but room was clean. more

We stayed at hotel Bartolomeo in the middle of June 2008. The location is second to none - literally 2 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. We had previously read a review on Trip advisor reccomending that you request a high room in the hotel to reduce the noise levels. If... more

This is a great 2*hotel. You are going to get what you pay for in venice for the price the location and the rooms cannot be faulted. The hotel is a 2 min walk from Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal and a 10 min walk from St Mark's Square. The staff are really friendly and happy to give advice... more

What a fun hotel. Make sure you have a map with you when trying to find this place. When you get to san marco plaza there are signs, but like most of venice, it's like a rat maze and you will absolutely need your map to find anything. Hotel was typical for europe, clean yet small. But not too cramped.... more

Could not have picked a better location if we paid five times as much! This hotel was awesome. It's right around the corner from the Rialto Bridge and 5 minutes walk (if you don't get lost) to St Marks. Breakfast was good, bed was comfortable and the room was clean and extremely spacious for European standards. Just beware that there... more

When booking this hotel, I followed the advice of another reviewer and requested a high floor - to try and get a quiet room as much as to get a view over Venice! We were given a room on the 4th floor as requested however with no lift we had quite a hike to walk up and down each time.... more

We are just back from a trip to Venice where we stayed at the Hotel Bartolomeo. We booked through Venere and got a good price, we also checked reviews on TA and it all looked good. We found the hotel really easily. We got a map from the hotel's own website. It is right next to the Rialto Bridge and... more

If you're staying in Venice you should stay here. My sister and I paid 80 E in the thick of August and it was a bargain. The rooms have been renovated. The bathroom was pristine. Fantastic water pressure with hot water, a large enclosed shower (not on top of a toilet!), and a large window - windows in bathrooms are... more
