Overall this is a great little hotel. Probably not too expensive for Venice. The room was exactly as expected, the superior canal view room (No 2 in the annex) is as per the picture on the hotel website. It was warm and comfortable. Two tiny details which did not hinder our enjoyment but would have made a great stay special.... more

This hotel was well located and well maintained and relatively well priced. However our room was situated above a main thoroughfare and this meant there was constant noise until 3.00am every night. There was no double glazing to kill the noise. more

I spent 3 nights in this hotel with my mother, room 11 superior, very well decorated (XVIII century venetian style), private bathroom, very clean and proper. We just loved! The hotel is very well located, you can reach all main city attractions within 10 minutes walk. Perfect location. The price was not bad for Venice. The hotel doens´t offer breakfast... more

We liked this hotel for its location-- an easy walk to St. Marks, to Ca' d'Oro vaporetto and even to the ferry to Murano. We found the hotel easily using the directions from the hotel. Apparently, the directions from the airport are not as good. We got a pretty good sized room for 3. The bathroom and room were clean... more

We had a front room facing the little campello (sp?) and the juice bar beside/under the hotel plays loud music until late into the evening. It might have been OK if the weather was cooler and we could have closed the windows. Or maybe the rear canal facing rooms are a better choice. There are mosquitos in the warmer weather... more

Love, Love, Loved the Al Vagon - Great location - just minutes from Rialto. We stayed in the new section of the Hotel and friends stayed in the older section, both rooms were lovely. Large by european standards, great bathroom with linens changed daily. Staff was friendly and helpful. Love my canal view. some may find the noise from the... more

Me and my 2 sisters couldn't believe this was a 1 star hotel! We got a double standard room with extra bed, and it was beautiful. We didn't pay for air conditioning, but we got it anyway, perhaps we were upgraded and they forgot to mention it! It doesn't serve breakfast but there were plenty of little shops and cafes... more

Location and the decoration of the room are the pros of our stay, but the heater and the said air condition were centrally locked. when I talked about it with the reception, they said they were not allowed to be used in that season. You pay 140€ per night and you get a cold in the room. (by the way,... more

Wow, this hotel and it's family ownership was fantastic. Maurizio the owner, we think, was like our personal concierge, so helpful we couldn't have done Venice without him. The rooms were tastefully decorated, we had a full bath and they were cleaned and maintained impeccably. We were with our mother and Maurizio gave us the key/remote to work the lift... more
