Ostello Venezia is right on the water. You can see Saint Marks Basilica across the water. There is a Vaperetto dock and laundry mat a few steps away. I went to Venice with school and I loved the city but not the Hostel! The boys and girls are seperated, when it's 11.30 AM the lights where shut down and you had to be in before that time or you had to sleep somewhere else. The food was terrible ! Oppressive lockouts and curfew, rude staff. Expect to get harassed and threatened if you eat an outside pizza in the common area (there are no signs saying this is not allowed).
