We suggest to all our fellow travellers not to be put off by two star rating of this hotel. This is true perl hidden right in the heart of Venice. Those lucky to get a spacious suite 53 with balcony, view to the canal and Motzart House will have unforgetable experience of romantic side of Venice. Staff are simply fantastic:... more

just returned from a stay at the Hotel Mercurio in Venice. I was taking my 63 year old mother abroad for the first time ever so was crossing my fingers that the hotel would live up to what I was expecting! And it did. From Monica who was extremely helpful, both in making sure our stay was confortable to telling... more

I reviewed the Hotel Mercurio before our trip to Venice and the reviews were very accurate. A small hotel, close to St Mark's Square in a lovely part of Venice. Clean, friendly staff and adequate breakfast. The rooms are small but adequate for the time you spend in them. Very helpful and friendly staff. I would certainly recommend this hotel... more

I just returned from Europe and our 1st stop was Venice, Italy. Venice is a beautiful place but is packed full of tourists from all over the world that want to see this amazing place on water. The tiny cobblestone alleys can be a bit confusing at first but with the instructions from the Hotel Mercurio's website, we found our... more

The Hotel Mercurio is perfectly located in Venice. A few minutes' walk takes you to all the wonderful sights of Venice. Combine that with a very friendly and competent staff led by Monica (she's the best), a view from our room over the canal and the house Mozart stayed in over 200 years ago, and the delightful sounds of the... more

For a budget hotel the Hotel Mercurio was fine. Although I didn't get a canal view (sad) my twin room was clean and adequate with individual room A/C. We did need to go up a total of 57 stairs to get to our room - think of it as their fitness center. The breakfast, served in small room, was a... more

Although the staff at this hotel were very friendly there was alot that we found disappointing. Our room was very small and although the cleaners who came in on a daily basis made sure that the ensuite, the floor etc were all cleaned, stuck to the wall (I guess where people had swatted them) there were a number of dead... more

Very satisfactory. The staff couldn't be more helpful. They let us leave our luggage in a safe place when we arrived early and after we checked out, helped carrying our bags up the stairs, provided good recommendations and maps -- nothing too much trouble. The room was simple but perfectly adequate and clean. The canal view was unforgettable. It's not... more

Hotel Mercurio, for the same price we paid in other hotels in other cities in Italy, was the worst value for money. 1. There was a cockroach in our room! It was tiny, but nevertheless, a cockroach. I was very uncomfortable my the whole night (good thing we only stayed one night) because I couldn't stop thinking about the cockroach!... more
