Hotel only picked as it had a pool and was close to the train. On arrival we were told that the pool had been closed for a year! Was told that our room was upgraded as there was no pool, but this did not compensate the dishonest advertising. We were looking forward to relaxing by the pool after some serious... more

The room was ok but the staff were very indifferent and not at all helpful. We booked with Cosmos and thought the Hotel would have been good. I'm a veggie and my evening meal consisted cold soup, salad ie lettuce, half a tomato, two lumps of cheese and sliced carrot in rings. We wanted to use the pool but it was... more

I went to this hotel with the Tour operator Iberojet (You must runaway when you see this name) in a tour. The room is about 1.5 x 1.5 meter, you just have space for get into the room one person at the time and if you go to the bathroom, if you are over 130 pounds be ready to get stuck... more

The hotel is located within a tree lined street in one of Venice's suburbs, but it's not within the lagoon. It's a typical Italian hotel, small rooms, tiny bathrooms, humdrum breakfast. The worse thing about this hotel however, is that if you want to use it's pool, you have to pay an additional 10 Euro per person, even though you're... more

I just looked at the photos on tripadvisor and had to laugh. So, we were in southern Austria and decided due to lack of snow to head to Venice for two days. We went to the Mestre train station and booked the Luton hotel based on price and rating (four stars? - please!!). We were two families, each with two... more

Spent 2 nights at this hotel as part of a larger tour group from Cosmos. Room was in need of a makeover, cramped and basic and the air conditioning did not work properly, it only blew out air - not cooled! There is little within the immediate area to be of interest, but the hotel is at least located close... more

Stayed here in July 2006 as part of a Cosmos touring holiday, and thought the hotel to be asolutely fine! The rooms were clean and modern, although the air conditioning was not particularly great! As regards location, although the hotel is a long way out of Venice centre, and there is not much in the area of the hotel, the... more

We stayed at this for 2 nights hotel as part of Cosmos touring holiday. The airconditioning did not work at any time despite promises from the staff. The room safe did not work despite promises to the contrary so we tried to use a facility at reception where they suggested we tie our valuables in a plastic bag we declined... more

We stayed 2 nights with COSMOS - never again! filthy with a layer of dust on the dining room furniture enough to leave my autograph. Place hasn't been redecorated since 1970! 2’6” beds and hardly 15 inches to get past the beds, stains on the 'sofa' on the last morning we had no running water from the bathroom taps and... more

Have just returned from Cosmos 2004 trip to Venice, Rome and Florence, stayed 2 nights at Lugano Torretta. Agree that rooms are small, ours had 2 x 2'6" beds but was clean, and bathroom with shower only was fine. Both breakfasts were perfectly adequate and staff helpful. The one evening meal was pasta followed by pork, veg and chips and fruit salad... more
