My friend and I stayed in on the last night of our holiday in Italy. We were originally booked at a hostel in Venice but after a bad experience the first night at the hostel we decided to switch our lodging. We found a recommendation for the Alloggi Henry in Rick Steve's Venice guidebook (gotta love Rick!) and headed over... more

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Despite having been promised a private bathroom when booking, we had to share one with another room. Also, the staff actually made us change rooms our fourth night-- apparently because a group was coming in that wanted rooms together. They moved us to a building about a 7-minute walk from the hotel--... more

This is a B&B rather than a hotel.... the room is clean and surrounding is fair. It is in a smaller alley but easily reach within the vaporetti stop, few step out is a little small square where you can find almost everything, dobi, butcher, restaurant, fruit market in the morning and even a grocery store COOP very nearby. The... more

We received a very warm welcome from Lorenzo at an hour much later than we were expected and he was thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. We had not booked a room with a private bathroom but when he saw we were three ladies in our fifties, he immediately switched our room (at no extra cost !!?!) so we could... more

We stayed 3 nights during early June 2007 and had a wonderful stay. We had no trouble finding the hotel with good directions from the hotel before arriving, as it can be easy to get lost in Venice. The manager or owner who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only... more

We were very disappointed with our stay at Alloggi Henry, primarily because of the vaguely seedy/unsafe atmosphere. The facilities themselves were adequate, if spartan for the price, but walls were very thin and it was quite easy to hear guests in the room next door. The biggest negative factor, however, was the overall atmosphere--I would not feel safe staying here... more

With three single beds, there was almost no room to walk in our room at the Alloggi Henry. The bathroom and the shower were also very small. The whole hotel is just 8 rooms on the ground floor of a residential building. It was one of our most expensive rooms, but then again Venice is one of the most expensive... more

(Note, this is a late posting, we stayed there August 2004) There were some slight problems on arrival. We got into town about 11pm and then proceeded to get lost- so by the time we arrived we had to call the concierge on our mobile and he directed us over the phone to get the keys- hidden in flowerbox- and... more
