Was there for the short film festival and was set up to stay here. Looks great outside and on the courtyard and the exhibition areas. Very different once you're in the hostel floors.. Room is very basic. Came with 2 beds on different sides of the room, a small table, rubbish bin, a side table and a closet. Also had... More

I have stayed at Collegio Armeno for a long weekend and although it's very basic the location, the building and the quiet garden more than make up for the lack of extras. It's also not expensive; so if you are looking for an affordable stay in Venice it's a good option. You also get to see the frequent art exhibitions... More

Very basic accommodation but the price was right for staying on the main island of Venice. Very handy to supermarket and pizza shop and only 15 minute walk to the Ferrovia in one direction or St. Mark's in the other. Also lovely outdoor garden/eating area. The staff were helpful. Unfortunately Collegio Armeno has now closed for renovations and won't reopen... More

I recently checked into this hostel and though the front desk was friendly, i was very disappointed with my stay. there was rug type carpet in my room that had seemingly never been cleaned. everything was broken and falling apart the windows would not close securely as the wooden latches had rotted away ( same with the doors), on windy... only two words...NEVER AGAIN! Think of an empty classroom with 4 old hospital beds, no heating, big fluorescent light to light the room, dirty walls with dead mosquitoes on it and you get the picture. The only good thing was the nice location and the view from the rooms but what a dump! ..................................................................

This place was a place of sanctuary for me , fleeing Iran and its unrest in the late 70's.....I was a studient here...I lived and prayed here...I miss the small chappel the most...the hidden bird cage....snack time..choclate and bread...the tv room...the day the Mayor of Venice came to visit and we all lined up and they arrived at the port... WORST EXPERIENCE OF A PLACE I HAVE EVER HAD. The exterior of the building was a little run-down when we first found it but we optimistically put it down to 'character'. Inside, the staff were moody and abrupt, again we cataloged it under 'local Italian charm' and expected the accommodation to make up for it. But once we got to... More

We been there for 3 days in middle of October. The bed (single) or not very confortable, forget about heat romms cause the heater block is to small, the best secret of this old cllege is the wonderful garden in the back yard, The internet is wireless near by the desk office, Ok. for the price if you don't want... Two friends and i arrived in Venice and after a short walk we found what we could not believe was the hostel we had made reservations for. First of all, no sign what so ever and the office looked more like an entryway to a old museum with it's postcards the first thing you saw. Had to ask if this... More
