Once you get past the frustration that is your first 15 minutes in Venice (Ie: really hard to find things) this hotel is perfect. Quick Tip - Look for "trattoria bricola", it's the restaurant below the hotel, go in and ask for the hotel, they will take you down the side alley to the entrance, you will never find it... more
We parked car in Tronchetto (giant garage outside of Venice) and took ferry to Venice. Don’t buy ticket for ferry inside garage. They sold us tickets on wrong ferry and we can’t return those tickets. No refund period. Hotel located next to San Marco. Room was cozy, but very comfortable. Nice staff. We love it very much. more
La Bricola is a little hard to find the first time but what a location. It is 100m or less from St Marco's Square and right in the hub of the pedestrian/food district of Venice. Excellent location, about 300 yards from San Marco yet in a quiet courtyard. Surprisingly clean and modern for what is essentially a 'bed and breakfast' rather than a hotel.
