This hotel is located in a fabulous island just 10 minutes far from Venice with the Vaporetto, completely in the green. Price-value is OK. The staff changes often, is not at the desired level. Could not pay dinner with credit-card...! My claim was treated in a dilettantic way. Will however return once more for the perfect location, but eat somewhere else, if staff non changing.

We booked this hotel based on reviews and pictures and we were in for a surprise. 1- You arrive on a dock that is 40 yards long, then you travel another 40 yards on gravel, so you have to carry your luggage or ruin the wheels. 2. When we arrived at the reception desk there was one woman there and we asked "is this the reception?" because it looks like a yacht club not a hotel. She replied yes and went back to her papers, didn't say hello, didn't ask us who we were, was totally unfriendly. Then she finally asks "do you need a room?" We told her we had a reservation and told her our names, she started going through papers and then another woman walks in to check out and she just stopped helping us and started chatting with this other woman and her entire attitude was different. We couldn't figure out what, was going on (like did some previous Americans offend her?). She finally tells us that our room is not ready. The paperwork said check in was at 2 PM and it was already 3PM and she didn't care, she told us to wait 1/2 hour. We booked this hotel over 3 months ago. Also, we never got the WIFI code, so I found the manager in the bar (after looking all over) and she wouldn't even ask me if I needed something, having just turned around from the room. Finally she gives me the WIFI codes (why didn't she offer these to us earlier?) and never says anything else. The WIFI is horrible and constantly makes you re-sign in every few hours. 3. She finally takes us up to the 2nd floor, then says, oops, that room isn't ready, let me take you to the 3rd floor and give you a deluxe room. This deluxe room had a bathtub and that was it (along with he tiny 2x2' shower) The bathtub was broken and the jets never worked. Because the room was on the top floor it was very hot inside, so we turned on the AC and left it on, 3 hours later and the room was still very warm, it was not working well or the place has no insulation from the roof. The roof slant is right above the bed, so you know there is very little heat barrier. The bed and furnishings are IKEA type. A very hard bed and pillows, we never got a good nights sleep. 4. At night we figured to open the windows to let what little breeze in we could, but since the bathroom window doesn't have a screen on it, all the bugs come in and I would wake up with 5-6 bites on my arms every morning, and itching- it was total hell trying to sleep. Also, the bar is open till midnight and was right below our bedroom window, so we got all the noise and all the smokers smoke coming right in, which made it hard to sleep. We figured with the managers poor attitude from the beginning, why even mention to her that the AC doesn't work - she would just move us to another smaller room. Also, one night we ran out of toilet paper because they gave us ONE roll for a 3 night stay, so I had to find a supply closet on the 2nd floor and get a roll, very annoying that they would not stock us with a 2nd roll in the bathroom. We bumped into the Manager at the water taxi stop and she didn't even say hello or acknowledge us as returning guests. I'm sure some other Americans upset her, but please don't categorize us all the same, we are working professionals who have respect and consideration for others and their property. 5. On the last night of our stay, the people on the balcony were smoking pot and it was so bad, (that and the cigarette smoke), that we had to close the window and suffer in the very warm room. 6. This place really is nothing but a converted dormitory that was made for sailors wanting a room with a shower, because it is the only place to dock a yacht near Venice. They do allow dogs, so there were dogs below barking at each other to add to all the chaos. 7. On the last night when we came back from Venice, we bumped into the Manager and she saw our water bottles and said "oh we offer free water bottles in the mini fridge on the 2nd floor" ???? Why wasn't this mentioned when she showed us the room? Also, we talked with a man on the dock who asked if we were aware of the rental electric boats. We knew of none of the activities offered at our location, kayaks or anything, nothing was mentioned or pointed out. 8. When we checked out, we were polite and never mentioned anything, because we figured it didn't matter to these people. And never once during check out did the Manager ask "how was your stay?" "Did you enjoy Venice?" or anything a normal hotel Manager would mention in conversation, it was pay the city tax and walk away, she didn't ask how we were getting to the airport. 9. The pictures are very deceiving, this is not a tranquil place to relax, you have barking dogs, kids playing basketball and a helicopter landing so wealthy yachters can board their yachts, it's a get away from the packed city of Venice and that's about it. It's also a 40 min Vaporetto ride from the train station. I think Lido island would have been a better place to stay.

We stayed here for two nights. We were disappointed with the quality of the rooms given the price we paid (around $190 USD/night). The website photos were a little misleading and the actual room was pretty run down looking compared to the photos. It was essentially an upscale hostel with very minimal room amenities. The room was very small and furnished with what looked like older, poor quality IKEA-type furnishings. The bathroom was so small that you could barely move around and a large person would have trouble getting into the shower. There was no microwave, refrigerator, or coffee maker. They also charged us $9 extra per person for breakfast which was just some pastries and yogurt. Getting to the island after 8pm was also challenging and you need to travel to another island first to transfer. The only advantage of staying here was that it is the meeting spot for a kayak tour which was really fun.

When I was planning my trip, I almost cut Venice out of my itinerary because I found it near enough impossible to find a basic room with my own bathroom in Venice anywhere near my budget. I was about to give up when I came across this little gem and I'm pleased I did because I wouldn't have experienced the beautiful Venice without it. The Island is so peaceful and calming , just what you need after a long day of exploring the city with its intense crowds. I purchased the 2 day Vaporetto pass for €30 and I literally hopped on and off it as and whenever the mood took me. Well worth it. If I remember correctly 4.2 and 5.1 lines go to the island from San Marco/ San Zacharia. It is a very pleasant ride to reach the centre. Loved it. If you miss the last Vaporetto of the night, you call them and they collect you in their own water taxi free of charge. I did use this service once and the gentleman who picks you up is very nice. Breakfast is an additional €9.

A wonderful hotel away from the crowds of mainland Venice. Very calming and quiet We arrived late at night, the walkway from the vaporetto stop to the island is about 200yds, but it is well lit. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. The hotel itself, is modern and a little quirky, I loved it! Rooms were spacious enough and very clean. The ride to mainland Venice is about 15 mins. We did not sample the restaurant, but found that having an evening meal on Lido gave us plenty of time to get back to Certosa before the last Vaporetto, though there is a courtesy boat provided by the hotel if you're having a late night. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a really lovely three night stay here. Quirky, quiet and friendly. The trips across the water to the main island were an added bonus rather than a hassle. You don't come to Venice if you don't like boats/ water after all. 100% recommend.

This was a great hotel, and I highly recommend it for those who want to be near Venice but don't want to be where all the crowds and tourists are. They were really nice and upgraded me, and the room was very clean and spacious. Additionally, although there is only the bar and restaurant to eat at if you get back to the hotel, the food was very good. I would recommend visiting Venice, but also Murano and Burano (which I think are much cuter!). There is a cost to go back and forth from the ferry, so would recommend planning trips out in the morning/night to make the most use or getting the 1-3 day pass. Since this hotel is better value than the ones on Venice, you will be saving your money that way!

After the pressure and pandemonium of all the tourists in central Venice it was such a pleasure (10-15 mins in a Vaporetto) to be spending time at Certosa. They have a small hotel, bar, restaurant and a marina. Nothing else. No shops, no other houses. Just a large park, grass trees, birds and a few rabbits out grazing in the evening. All this just 15 mins from Piazza S Marco in central Venice. What a pleasure. Restaurant is good. Bar seems to be open all day and does bar snacks if that is what you wish to have.

Read lots of reviews but first firstly the price was superb for 4 days .... almost half the price of the main land. The island is served by the route 4.1 public water bus so take some time to learn about the public transport in advance or a water taxi is an expensive 120 Euro over 7.5 public system. The service is excellent, rooms simple, clean and comfortable, air con is average so ask for a fan to help with circulations Restaurant is delicious and we opted to head back early each night and eat here than risk the tourist traps.... plus it's a short walk to bed. There's a cafe on site serving food and drink all day. Overall after the baking hot, chaos of central Venice it's a delight to come back to your own private island of tranquility. Would thoroughly recommend .... based on learning the transport system in advance

Very nice private island to stay, especially in sunny days don't miss it. Transportation is easy until 8 than arriving to island is easy but from island to main venice you need to transfer at lido. Anyway it's a unique experience
