In the ancient village of Malamocco Venice Lido you can find this "Osteria" where you can eat an excellent fresh fish, two specialties are creamed cod and fried fish, delightful garden where you can eat outdoors, to conclude good service and good prices, not to be missed if you have time during your stay in Venice

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 days and found it very pleasant. The guy who runs the hotel (who I believe is called Marco) was very, very friendly as the other reviewers have pointed out and couldn't do enough for us. We had the large room with the outdoor area which was really nice. We also got a shower that flooded but after we mentioned it to Marco he had it fixed straight away (it's a decent shower too!) I think in a nutshell I'd call this place a good 'backpackers' hotel - if you've ever been travelling around SE asia on a backpackers budget you'd call this place pretty decent. However, if you're looking for a decent hotel of hotel-like standards around the UK then this isn't it. Good points: Marco very friendly and helpful Location is quite nice and peaceful I found the bed fairly comfy although my girlfriend did not Breakfast every morning Hotel was empty pretty much apart from us Restaurant downstairs seemed pretty good although we only ate there once The outdoor area we had was very nice as it meant we could sit outside every morning and have breakfast Marco will probably read my bad points and fix them by the time you arrive! Bad points: 1. My girlfriend pointed out that the place is 'boy clean' - eg it's been cleaned and tidied in the way a man would clean and tidy. The bedsheets were clean etc, but under the bed was a thick layer of dust. Un-occupied rooms were in the same state as the guests had left them. Although this didn't bother me in the slightest, it's something to consider and Marco, if you're reading this - it's worth cleaning up a bit (I'm sure you will!) 2. It's not *that* close to Venice. It took about an hour to get from the hotel to the heart of Venice.. although the local transport is reliable there's lots of stops and waiting around a little bit.. it adds up to about an hour (and slightly longer at night time.) 3. The furniture is old and a bit crappy, but then that doesn't really matter does it? 4. Girlfriend didn't think bed was comfy. 5. Breakfast was very basic.. just some rolls, jam, fruit juice, apple. No choice in what you get. Some eggs/cereal would have been nice. The general feeling I came away with was positive. Marco himself adds an extra star to my rating as he's so friendly. I'm sure if I mentioned any of the downsides to him he'd have them fixed but I just don't have the heart to complain to someone so nice! All in all I'd recommend it.…

Room Tip:Ask for the room with the outdoor bit and en-suite. The other rooms looked a bit too basic.

Wonderful little b&b on Lido Island - Marco the owner is as nice and helpful as mentioned in previous posts. Although the furniture is old, the place itself is fully functional and very clean. If you want to escape the tourist hordes trampeling through Venice (but get there in a reasonable amount of time), this is the place you want to go!

not much to say- nice B&B out of tradition. If you dont expect new rooms /furniture but this typical charming timeless italian style- you will be fully satisfied. The rooms are clean and got a great roof terrace. Marco does his job at 130percent - always tries to help and to read your wishes before you can ask yourself..-only negative point to mention cld be a 10- 15minutes trip by bus to reach the warterbus station at Lido . Overall great place to stay which gets highests marks fm us Björn Germany

We ended booking this place because the other accomodation we stayed 2 nights ago in Venice was full. Price was reasonable as places were charging Euro 90 above. We had luck on our side as Locanda da Scarco's owner, Marco made us feel at home. Surprisingly this place is not listed here until now, so I'm the first to share my experience! The place is situated in Lido and in the village of Malamocco. You need to take a boat from Venice and then take the bus. It is slightly long journey about 1.5 hrs, but worth it when it is a relaxing, quiet place away from tourist centre of Venice. Plus it is below Euro 76 per night so no complaints. After our bad experience with another Venice accomodation, we prayed heard that this will be alright. Our prayers were answered - as Marco was more than helpful. He brought all our luggages through the stairs into our room, gave us bottles of cold mineral water. Even with his broken English, he gave us directions and attractions to visit. We only undestand half what he was saying but his generousity and willingness to help made the conversation interesting. The room was clean with white clean bed sheets. Bathroom was ok, except when showering it flooded. This is something to look into! The place is near a church. It rings only once every hour at night, so might wake you up if you are a sound sleeper like me. I only woke up twice at night, so it was ok. Breakfast was superb! Marco makes his own Italian coffee. He serves up ample and wide variety of bread, yogurt, honey, jam, etc. He is well read so be prepared to ask him lots of Italian history and even your own country too! There are plenty of restaurants near Lido boat station. Recommend the restaurant run by an Asian family. Good italian food and you can get it below Euro 12 for pasta, lasagna. There's also a supermarket nearby. My only regret is not putting up here for 3 nights, instead of 1. Do stay here if you are visiting Venice. I certainly enjoyed every bit of my short stay here.…
