Marvellous classic hotel with perfect service and gorgeous swiming pool. Except for the fact that is far from the city center, it is, on my opinion, the best place to stay in your visit to Palermo more

I should preface this review as Palermo is not for everyone. Although my time in Palermo and Sicily was one of the best times I've had while on vacation. I was fully prepared that parts of Palermo were a little rough and tumble and tended to avoid the seedier parts of town. For those travelers interested in visiting Sicily by... more

such a shame that the squalid location of this beautiful old hotel made it hard for us to stay any longer than two nights. The streets were full of rubbish and human debrisand vile odours. Our room was really good and clean but the food in the restaurant was extremely poor and expensive and the staffs indifference was patently obvious.... more

This is hotel is located outside of the Palermo center. This is a plus as the city is dirty, crowded and unappealing. Located on the water (but with no direct access to it), looking over a small port and a larger industrial port behind it (it is not great to see mega cranes when you wake up in the morning),... more

We arrived late in this hotel (around 2am) and we were given a huge huge room! Unfortunately, my suitcase didn't come with me on the plane, so the helpfull staff gave me some neccessary toiletries. The staff is really helpfull, the restaurant for breakfast and bar are on a stunning location. However, if you want to visit Palermo, you either... more

We spent several nights at the hotel. The overall impression was that it is a very beautiful building and a haven of tranquillity in the madness of Palermo. The cleanliness of the room and common areas was amazing with every surface seeming to be continually polished. A great plus for us is that the staff all spoke some English. The... more

We normaly spend much time in Cefalu, Sicily, although once in a while we go to Palermo and Villa Igiea. You get a feeling of the time before WWI. Very nice garden, marvelous rooms. A real retreat. The food is 8-9/10, depending on your choice. Staff welcoming and discreet, not always observant, though. As a whole: well worth a visit. more

Do not stay here (and do not stay in Palermo if you can help it). The hotel (and staff) was horrible. It took several times before we could get a room (they kept trying to give us a double bed). While we took the third room, there were many issues. Very old and tired looking (not antiuqy which is okay,... more

This is one of only two luxury properties in all of Sicily, and the premier property in Palermo. This was the former residence of the Florio family (the dude w/the brilliant idea of putting tuna in cans). It is located right on the water in a somewhat outta the way neighborhood in Palermo. Best part of the hotel are the... more

We arrived at Catania Airport for our weeks trip to Sicily. After a nightmare drive we eventually found the Hotel Villa Igiea Hilton. The hotel is in a dreadful location looking down on a small marina but with a working dockyard within earshot. The hotel is faded glory but not uncomfortable because of that ,our room was a junior suite... more
