I was not very excited about our recent trip to Sicily--going to Palermo in particular. After reading many reviews of Palermo hotels on TripAdvisor, I decided on The Excelsior Palace--primarily because of locaton. It was a wonderful selection. The hotel arranged for a private car and driver to pick us up at the airport (we later hired the driver for... more

From the moment we arrived this hotel felt good and we weren't to be disappointed. Room large and high ceilings lovely balconies and bathroom and shower excellent. Bed large and very comfortable. Room 241 a deluxe corner room at back corner of hotel and really quiet given central location. Hotel in ecellent location with super shopping, restaurants and yet the... more

My wife and I along with two friends stayed for two nights last week. We pre-paid for the rooms at a cost of €95 per room per night. The staff were excellent, efficient and at least one person on duty was English speaking. Valet car parking was €20 per day which in my experience is about average for a city... more

We stayed 3 nights and found the hotel and it's location just perfect for us. Our room had been recently refurbished to a very high and tasteful standard, the city rate was reasonable, and the location...for us...perfect, i.e. close, but not too close, to the frenetic centre. The hotel is in an upmarket part of the city and has some... more

My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon and we found it to be faultless. The staff bent over backwards for us, they were all so friendly. Our room was big and airey and very clean. The food was marvalous. The chef even made us our own private menu on the second week. I really advise anyone who may... more

This lovely hotel is nearing its complete renovation. The public areas, especially the dining room are beautiful. The decor and fittings are luxurious. There is now a decent sized bar area alongside the dining room. Our room on the first floor was completely renovated with a lovely bathroom. We found the staff to be helpful and courteous. Breakfast was quite... more

We are a family of 4, and booked our first 2 nights in Sicilly in this hotel we arrived c 10 am, and were told our rooms were ready, but that the air condiitoning would be off for 2 or 3 hours. The air conditioning failed to come on at all in the next 2 days, despite repeated promises from... more

Large hotel in Taormina, a long walk from centre. Had a room on the 3rd floor, not bad, but we expected a more luxurious hotel. Seemed to be a great hotel for businessmen, judging by the meetings we saw organised there. One of the reception staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, the rest were okay. They couldn't even find us a... more
