Exploring Ortigia and staying at L'Approdo dell Sirene was the best part of my trip to Sicily. The location is excellent: I especially appreciate that it's easy to find when driving and entering and leaving the island is fairly simple. We loved this hotel. It is in a good location just over the bridge onto the island, along the marina. We reserved two twin rooms with balcony and sea view. This is a great little b&b with very clean wide rooms right in Ortygie, right next to the sea but you can easily drop your bagage and park. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were very good and the terrace fantastic ! We loved it ! more

This b&b is beautifully situated by the water, but still very central and close to shopping streets. A really great breakfast is served on a roofterrace with a spectacular view over the harbour. The room and bathroom was clean, well furnished and spacious, the staff helpful. more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon in in April 2009. We stayed only at the top-ranked hotels and B and B's throughout Sicily on Tripadvisor, and we agreed that this was our favorite! Freidrich is the perfect host, and genuinely warm. Highy recomend this B&B. It is more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are lovely - we stayed in room 4 - a corner room, spacious with lovely views. So glad we choose to stay on Ortigia and SO glad we chose L'Approdo. Great location, very quiet nights, and superb host (Friedrich). The bedroom was pretty standard size, but the bathroom was larger than normal. If staying in Sircusa, do not stay off the island.
