It was great to find a place that reminded me of the traditional, 2-3 star, family-run hotels that my family used to stay in across towns and cities in Italy in the 1980's. The 2 stars don't do it justice, it was spotlessly clean, family run by polite and kind people, lovely breakfast room with continental breakfast and plenty of true Italian coffee! I agree with the comments made by everyone else. However, our only disappointment was that our room had no air conditioning, only a very noisy electric fan. It was very hot so we had to sleep with the glass doors open and the fan on, we didn't get much sleep during our week stay because of this and the multitude... more

We stayed in this wonderful Hotel in September 2008. We had a family wedding in Taormina and what a fantastic stay we had. The hotel is beautiful. It is spotlessly clean and so beautifully Sicilian in every way. The staff are kind and courteous and always ready to greet you with a "Bon Journo" and a smile. Wonderful, charming people.... more

What a find! Taormina is a charming, friendly, beautiful place. This hotel is run by a lovely Sicilian family. It has passed through generations and the family members who run the hotel are incredibly helpful and kind. The traditional looking hotel couldn't have been better placed right in the middle of everything. We had a room at the back with a balcony overlooking an alleyway - but that's OK, Italy has such interesting alleyways. It was a little oasis of calm amongst all the busyness of the Corsa Umberto. Really enjoyed our stay at the Victoria. We had a street facing room on the top floor and with the exception of Saturday night the sound from the street was no problem - I am a heavy sleeper so this might not be the same for everybody. There's no such thing as a budget hotel in Taormina, but the Victoria was a nice, affordable option that did not disappoint. Locations was great (a bit of a walk from the bus stop, but manageable).
