Right down to the smallest detail the Hotel Palazzo Benci is just perfect. In winter it's warm and welcoming and in summer it's light and airy. In the public areas the floors are of marble and the lounges furnished with tasteful and comfortable sofas and armchairs. If there's a better hotel in Florence, or even in all of Italy, I haven't found it yet. The front lobby is gorgeous, the front desk staff goes out of their way to be helpful, & the rooms are clean & comfortable. The location near Santa Maria Novella is easy to walf with bags. We were moved from our reserved hotel into the Benci because of water problems so didn't select it but were very happy there. The staff (Raphaella) was a wonderful help to us in so many ways. We stayed at the Benci for 4 days over New Year's. It is an awesome hotel! Located right across from the Medici Chapel and a few blocks from the Duomo - you can't beat the location.
