Very convenient to the train station and central Florence. Great room and breakfast was great. We loved everything about this hotel. There was a bit of road noise at night, but I had downloaded a whitenoise loop on the iPod hooked up our little portable speakers and played that at night and didn't hear a thing. We loved our stay... more
Stayed in one of the first floor 'family rooms' for one night. This is a spacious room with only a clerestory style window so a bit dim - with a lofted second double bed up a short spiral staircase. Large dual-sink and dual-shower head bathroom. Strangely shallow spa tub. Room clean and quiet. Nice big towels. Paid 190 euro on... more
Read previous reviews so went ahead and made a booking. I was not disappointed. 5 mins walk from train/bus station, and 10 mins walk from Duomo. Lovely room, but road noise was a bit of an issue as I am a light sleeper, ask for one at the back. Great breakfasts, ask for the cappuccino and they will make you... more
Beautiful Tuscan ambiance, great breakfasts, friendly breakfast staff, stunning breakfast dining room. Small double bed-room,not unattractive, and small private balcony with bench. Others on lower floors had a balcony with tables and chairs. Location is really good - close to station, the Duomo, and the river Arno is only a few blocks south, as the river slopes north west up towards... more
Hotel Alba Palace was not our first choice but we were thrilled with our stay and this would definitely be our first choice next time. The location was perfect; close to the train station, bus terminal and sightseeing. The hotel was very clean, room 307 was spacious, quiet, had great air conditioning, a beautiful bathroom, lots of storage, mini-bar, free... more
The hotel had all the basics-nothing major stood out for us. At least it had the internet and free wi-fi. Nice breakfast area with skylight ceiling. We decided on this location and hotel because it was within a block of car rentals. more
My husband, 21 year old daughter and I took a whirlwind trip around Italy over two weeks, and this hotel was truly a bright spot. The room was big, even by American standards, there was a great TV, the room had wireless access from our own computer (and free access at a terminal downstairs) and air conditioning, and the towels... more
Only ten minutes walk from the main station and in easy reach of the cities museums and shops. Hotel staff very attentive and welcoming. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and a pleasure to return to after a long day walking through Florence and its museums and art galleries. Breakfast is typically continental style with breads, cold meats, cheese, yoghurts... more
We spent 4 nights in the Alba Palace hotel, which, despite it's sort of cheesy name, was a really pleasant hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and let us have a fax sent to them and they printed out an email for us. The location is literally a block away from the train station, yet still close enough... more
