Upon arriving at Hotel Dante in Florence Italy, we were greeted by the hotel owners. They were great ! The elevator was small, but it sure beats lugging all the luggage up the stairs. Rooms were failry big for Italy, but it just so happened that my A/C was broke. It was very hot, so the hotel owner gave us... More

We stayed at Hotel Dante for a week while we visited our daughter who is studying in Florence this semester. We had consulted Trip Advisor and reviews were favorable. This is a family-run hotel, and we were always greeted by the owner, Roberto, his wife, baby, and niece. Roberto was helpful in trying to arrange tours, taxi, etc. We were... More

If you want luxury, then this is not your hotel. If you want a place to stay that is friendly and clean for an affordable price in a pretty darn good location, then Hotel Dante is a great choice. The furniture is not up-to-date, but I feel like they did the best they could with it. It is a family... More

The hotel was basically clean but rooms were notably unattractive. Breakfast was significantly inferior to that in comparable level hotels in other parts of Tuscany. Stale rolls, cheeses that seemed like the cheapest grocery store cheese in the US. We emailed that manager before we left the US asking that he get us a reservation at the Academia. He said... More

Staying at Dante Hotel was the best decision I made on our recent trip to Italy. After reading several reviews for this hotel, I had a feeling this was the right place to stay and it was. The owner, Elton, was so friendly and accomodating. He helpled make our stay in Florence so comfortable and easy. The breakfast buffet was... More

Shame on Lonely Planet, the rooms are terrible, service was rude, wi-fi was sporadic and the cost was far too high considering the excellent value and friendliness you can find 2-7 blocks away, still inside the city. Do not believe the pictures on the website of the hotel rooms. More

My wife stayed at Hotel Dante for for a total of 5 nights (3 initial nights, then we trained to Venice for a couple nights, then back to Florence). I cannot speak highly enough about the staff (owners?) at Hotel Dante. The young man running the counter (and the whole hotel it seems) was absolutely great. We arrived around 11am,... More

My wife, sister in law and I stayed at the Hotel Dante for 5 nights in March, 2011. We had a 2 bedroom with a kitchen which was like having our own apartment in Florence. It is located right down the street from the center of town and is right around the corner from where our daughter is studying this... More

Dante is centrally located in the heart of busy Florence. Although it is just steps off of the busy Piazza Santa Croce, my stay was as quite as could be. My room was suprisingly spacious. The decor was a little dated, but that's not what I was paying for. They have a friendly staff and the breakfast hit the spot... More
