Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for two nights. An easy 15 minute walk into the City and short walk to the station. Room was basic, small but served our purpose. On the last night it felt like the neighbour was in our room speaking on the phone, but overall not a major problem. Hotel reception is manned and by the front door. Staff were not particularly friendly and never acknowledged us when ever we passed by. The bedroom door key is rather large so it initially made sense to leave it at reception and collect on return. However we realised that the key remained on the reception counter, even when reception was unattended and stayed there until our return, which not very security conscious . Breakfast was good and a reasonable choice, but again the staff did not appear particularly friendly. The location and price were the main plus points for using this hotel and for this type of short break it worked for us.

We liked the location. In 15-20 minutes, you're in Piazza del Duomo, Piazza Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and many other attractions. We loved how clean the hotel it was. They came and changed the towels/made up the beds every day, which is a lot more than any 4* hotels usual offer. We liked the fact that there was parking for free, although we arrived at the hotel late in the evening they still had parking spaces available ( this is a great location and to find a hotel like this with free parking it's an absolute bargain). The breakfast was very nice, they had a very good choice from cheese, mini mozzarellas, ham, boiled eggs , yoghurts, croissants etc. The 2 ladies at breakfast were very nice and friendly. We had our 2 years old daughter running around and they were very understanding and patient. I saw in the previous reviews that someone said the shower was small. Personally, I think that's a bit unfair. The shower was absolutely fine, and the pressure was very good. They even give you shower caps. We liked that the mattress was quite firm, great for the posture and the pillows not too high ( both very comfortable) . Also, I liked the fact there was a mini fridge, very useful as we have a little girl, and it was perfect to keep things cool. We really liked the hotel, and we'd go back in the future. The only thing I would have liked better would have been a room that's on the same floor with the lifts. We had a baby, pram, 2 big cases, rucksack, and we had to go down a big set of steps, which was a little challenging with all our stuff. Also, we didn't like there were some noisy ladies talking quite loudly until midnight outside their room on the corridor ( this is not the hotel's fault, though just inconsiderate people). Everything else was great! Thank you, Hotel Golf. We really enjoyed our stay and we'll be back next time we're in Firenze.

Although slightly out of the centre, to the back of the railway station, it was only a short walking distance to all the places of interest. The coach station for excursions was really close by and very convenient. Room was spacious and breakfast was varied and good choice. Giving a Good rating as overall considered a bit on the high side price wise.

Located outside the main city, with a short walk to the main tourist part. Rooms were tired and not as pictured. - Breakfast basic, only ate once. - Rooms were cleaned daily but not to a high standard. Staff friendly Get what you pay for.

We reached the hotel and the stuff person who met us was answering to our questions strangely. The first room they planed to provide in the 3rd floor us was tooo small, and there was a lizard in the corridor. I was very afraid about it and asked them at least to take it away but they said there’s nothing to worry, and we want we can catch it or kill it, up to us 😫 . Then we asked another larger room, they provided one in the ground floor. That one was bigger enough at least to have space to put our things easily. But the room was overall in dust, and we disgusted to touch anything and even lie in those bed sheets. There were dead mosquito traces on walls. The breakfast was okay, average.

First I would like to say the only thing good at this hotel is it’s lobby. Front reception very rude. I was looking at breakfast at 7:00 and got yelled at “HEY 7:15!” even tho food is sitting out. Ive stayed for a week and not one has the reception bothered to say hello or anything. They completely ignore you. The hotel is made for a toddler just by the sizing of everything. Hotel wifi is dog water. For the amount of money that was payed you expect a warm welcome and even a hello every time you walk in. I will never recommend this to anyone and refer them to another hotel more cleaner, nicer and more centrally located.

The room, value, cleanliness, service, location, staff, clientele, were all very good here. Their free breakfast is amazing. I had a little trouble getting up the steps at entrance, because I use a walker, but managed with frequent help from lobby staff. This location is not great for guests with cars , because of a tiny parking lot and limited street parking. It’s walk-in distance or a short cab ride from Santa Maria Novella train station. I walked alone in the neighborhood, with no worries.

A nice, affordable hotel placed 3 min walk from tramvia 2 station (tram linking Peretola airport) and 5 min walk from train station.Rooms are cozy and clean, bathrom is not suitable for extralarge persons - for us was not the case - but you never know. Breakfast was plentiful and enough variaty to have several choices for one week. Staff was very kind and helpful. The only downfall were the extra-thin walls that sometimes gave you the sensation that you are sharing the room with extra 3 people.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Golf. Close to everything, large room, large bathroom, affordable and a delicious breakfast. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was perfect and very delicious. Location was very close to train station which was a relief, no cabs needed--always a plus!

Very bad hotel with very bad experience. Money had been stolen from my room without any action from the hotel after reporting. No security cameras in floors. Even after reporting to the police, there was no action from their side. Not recommended for stay at all.
