Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Comfortable but small room, no kettle but great for a short stop. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Pillows are rocks, could do with new ones. Full breakfast nicely presented. Clean but room was only serviced in the afternoon; timing could be better.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I stayed here as part of a tour of Florence and Tuscany. It’s a very large hotel and, during the three nights we were there the throughput of guests arriving/departing was to be seen to be believed, the admin side of things there must be really up to scratch. We has a room on the third floor, our room sharing the single lift/elevator shaft, which, to be very honest didn’t trouble us as we were quickly used to the ‘hum’ of the lift going up and down, what did trouble us was the voices of those entering and leaving the lift. We found the room adequate for our needs, lovely large comfy bed and, despite the noise by the lift, and (not the fault of the hotel) emergency vehicles with their sirens on the main road outside. Really clean place. Very convenient for visiting the centre of Florence - we walked it three times. We found breakfast, for Italy (Italians don’t do breakfast) quite good, plenty of choice, including bacon, egg, toast, cereals, fruit, croissants. What let the place down was the service at the evening meal, (not included in the price) the waitresses didn’t seem to bother, rather lethargic, after ordering, in how it was presented and not producing drinks ordered until challenged (really quiet in the dining room for custom) and we were somewhat surprised to see burgers and fries passing by into the bar area, so the next night, bar area it was for a cheaper, to us, excellent plateful of food, the girls there were working non stop and providing an excellent service. A shame they don’t advertise the meals in the rooms so an informed choice could be made in advance. On leaving there was some kind of incident recovering our cases from storage due the the porters going off shift, but it was all sorted by other staff. I’m not saying we wouldn’t go again, if wanting to go the Florence independently.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was good for walking along the river to get to main areas as well. When you check in, make sure (if you plan to eat at the restaurant at all) to ask if you can order ala cart. Otherwise you have to do a full or half board, which is a full dinner service. We had al a cart, which was all I could eat. How someone can do 3-4 courses is beyond me. The room was comfortable, but the heat in the rooms was way too hot. We had to open the window, even though it was 38 degrees outside. We used the bus to get to and from the train station. It dropped off and picked up around the block, but not a horrible walk. My room was booked as part of an independent tour through Gate 1, so I am not sure of the value of the room based on cost.

Busy hotel but very well managed, an easy walk to everything we wanted to see and with a parking garage (which was important to us as we were on a self-driving tour and had heard awful things about parking in Florence). Our room was large, modern and impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet was fine, nothing special. We didn’t try any of the other amenities.

Pros: Location - you could walk and be at the tourist areas in about 15 - 20 minutes. And it's an easy, scenic walk along the river. There are also quite a few restaurants nearby. The hotel also has restaurants on-site. Cons: It was a bit of a maze getting to our room - two different elevators, multiple hallways. While the lobby of the hotel is really nice, the rooms were very dates and note great. Shower was kind of gross. We did have a little bit of a view of the city from a distance, which was pretty. They had different 'levels' of breakfast and ours came with a basic continental-style - which was fine because I like breads. As we were part of a group I don't know what the rates were, and I don't have anything else to compare it to so I'm unsure if I'd stay here again.

Apart from some linguistic issues (please, in such a touristic place Italian alone isn't sufficient!), rather good stay with good bed but issues with shower (temperature not hot enough); frigo in the room not working (also not after asking for it); gym mostly broken so not usable; ... Correct breakfast; good meeting place for our scientific meeting. Nicely located at the river, acceptable walking distance to the old city centre.

Was on Bus Tour and unfortunately left my medication in my room when the tour moved on. Nicholas helped me through the process and followed up along the process to get the med's sent via courier to our next hotel. Nicholas went above and beyond to ensure the med's caught up to me.
