I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in the spring and I did read the reviews before I booked. I decided to take a chance, making the good location a priority. It is in "walking" distance from the train station, but it is a good 20 minutes walk, mostly on cobblestone streets and it is not practical if you... more

We arrived by car and finding this hotel was like finding a needle in a haystack. It is on a very narrow cobblestone road. There is a parking lot across the street, but it is quite expensive. Once settled in, It was in a great location. Only a few blocks from L'Accademia and a short walk to the Ufizzi and... more

We checked out after one night though we had paid for two. The internet picutres are a joke. This does not look anything like the real place. There were holes in the walls, the beds were crap. The shower hardly existed and it sprayed over the toilet. The window opened to somebody's patio and they looked right in the room.... more

I went there for the St. Valentine's day with my boyfriend and, luckily enough, we only stayed in the hotel at night. The room was fine and clean, but the view absolutely awful!!!! The bathroom was too small, and when you took shower, the water was everywhere, even outside the bathroom :( The staff doesn't speak very well Italian and... more

The staff is a delight. We had a great home base to see Florence and Tuscany. The Hotel became our home away from home and the staff became our family. This affordable hotel is clean and is close to the grocery store, Post Office and several restaurants. Our stay was fabulous and the staff went out of their way to... more

i've passed through florence many times (used to live there, still have friends, though alas w/o guest space) so I know how easy it is to get royally ripped off in this town. the ariston is modest but really quite a good deal. clean, reasonably priced, and a very helpful, friendly staff--heard the woman at the desk speaking excellent english.... more

It’s absolutely astonishing on how different our experience was in comparison to other the reviews at the Hotel Ariston, Firenze, Italy. We stayed from June 11, 2008 to July 09, 2008 and apparently the hotel is under new management, as well as staff, from what we could derive from the remarks left by previous comments. Room service was exceptionally well... more

My class stayed at the Hotel for the CSU Summer Arts Program and the staff went out of their way to provide us with excellent service. The staff helped us with our luggage up the several flights of stairs and was always available 24 hours a day to help with any problems or emergencies. The night staff made sure the... more

I booked this hotel at the last minute using Priceline's Booking dot com site. I did not have time to read TripAdvisor's reviews and I regret it. The hotel is a two star hotel located centrally in Florence. Very close to il Duomo and other attractions. When we arrived the staff was very polite although only one spoke English (this... more

I was quite happy here considering my budget. It was a good location with walking distance to sites and markets, and the woman that greeted us was outstanding. Out of her way friendly to assist us with where to go or with any questions we had. I thought the breakfast was average, but definately eatable, with cake, soft cheese and... more
