Stayed at this hotel in 2005 and decided to stay again on this trip which was a mistake. On arrival at 2nd floor we were greeted by a tatty, dirty front door mat and a lean to table that doubled as the desk. Nothing like the photos.Room was on the 3rd floor with no way of getting to it besides using the... more

Value for money very good, rooms very clean, building full of character and staff exceeingly helpful and friendly. Bathroom clean and functional - no complaints. Great location next to the Palazzo Medici and near the San Lorenzo market. Highly recommended. more

We stayed in Hotel Centro for 3 nights because of its central location and great rates. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the hotel is in a superb location - a few minutes walk and you're by the Duomo. We paid £30/night which is virtually as much as you'd spend on a campsite! 2 words of warning:... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, rooms were rather small but overall very good. We had maids in every day to change the bed and give us clean towels. The shower is not all that great and not ever bedroom has an en suit so be careful when booking there are some bedrooms with seperate... more

I emailed prior to arriving at the hotel asking them if checking in late would be okay (taking the evening train from Rome). They didn't have an issue. They also booked tickets to the Academia (Michaelangelo's David) and to the Uffizi for me. Keep in mind that you don't need to make reservations (and pay extra) during slow season. The... more

This was hotel was a bargain, so I was not expecting much. The lobby smelled like cigarettes ( I expected this, after all I was in Europe ). The oversized keychain attached to the room key was GIGANTIC...it felt like it was 6 lbs ( abt 3 kg)...If you lose this key, I don't know what to tell you. When... more

Room was clean - bathroom was huge by European standards. Street was very noisy at night and since there was no air conditioning, sleeping with the windows open was a bit of a challenge. Also seemed a bit smoky and a few mosquitos got in the room. Breakfast was ok - cereal, breads with spreads and coffee. However, the location... more

When we arrived at the hotel it took us about 3 attempts of ringing the bell to get buzzed in. TINY lift! The man at reception didn't give us any information (breakfast times etc). The corridor and the room stank of cigarette smoke. The room itself was at least clean. However, in Feb it was COLD!! The street below is... more

I stayed here for 4 nights with my mother (76) and son (20) in a triple room looking over a narrow and relatively quiet street that leads directly to the San Lorenzo church/market. The room was very basic, but comfortable. Breakfast was also basic and adequate. We are the type of travelers who only use a hotel for the bed... more
