The hotel is quite far from train station, is tired to walk with heavy bags and when you reach the hotel, you need to climb stairs to second/third floor. great location, very easy to get to from the train station and quite close to all the main sites. we got wonderful restaurant recommendations from the staff and they were so helpful in general. Our room was quite clean - only problem is that the beds were quite uncomfortable. overall, a gerat place for the value! more

Clean room however very outdated and beds are not very comfortable and not too quite. A nice touch having DVD players in the room with a selections of DVD's to pick from and great to have free use of internet. Bathrooms were a little scray. Service was excellent. Would probably not stay again... would try and find another affordable one... more

Hotel Sampaoli is the best hostel I ever stayed in- beautifully decorated, with awesome staff and free internet. Only a couple of blocks away from San Lorenzo and the Duomo, this hostel was perfect, we had amazing service from the staff who spoke fluently in multiple languages, and we never had any problems with the facilities. They took great care of us and i'll always look to go back there if i'm in Florence again. more

Overall great stay, we stayed in a pretty crap place the night before for the same price, so this place was levels above it! Friendly managers/owners. Sampaoli is centrally located and all of the sights are in walking distance. The double I stayed in was large by European standards. There was a television and DVD in the room. There were two baths on the floor, and it was never necessary to wait, in addition to a sink in the room. My only negative comment on the... more

We stayed at the Sampaoli hostel about 5 years ago, and really liked it - great location (still is!) friendly staff (still are!) but this stay we really noticed things going down hill... tiles on the floor in our room were broken, bathroom was in serious need of upgrade/repair... overall, for a hostel, its a good location and decent price... more
