Locanda Starlight is a great hostel with a one-of-a-kind flavor. Rolando makes you feel right at home, explaining to you all of the hot spots and making you feel right at home. Bathrooms and rooms were clean, but make sure you close the windows at night lest the mosquitoes take over your room. I would definitely recommend this to anyone... more

We really liked the Locanda Starlight. Ronaldo was so funny and friendly - he gave us a map of the city, showing us where all the main tourist spots were, including some delicious (and cheap!) gelato places and some restaurant recommendations. Starlight is a gem.Rooms were clean and had a sink in the room.Room was really big for typical italian rooms.Quiet space all day and night. The guest were respectful of other guests and were not loud even when they came in late.Rolondo was very helpful, even carried our bags upstairs to the hostel and gave us a glass of wine... more

Locanda is not that far from the train station and easy to find. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy but that is usually the case when you are near the train station and Florence itself is a very dirty and crowded place. The hostel for the most part is nice. We stayed on the first floor and still felt safe.... more

The location can't be beat, a few minutes walk from the train station, the outdoor shopping market is just down the street, and the duomo within easy walking distance.
