Fonte de Medici is an agriturismo that is part of the Antinori Family estate. The hotel itself is not priced like your agriturismo, and for good reason. Our room was quite large with a full shower and a mini-kitchen. Two bottles of wine were included, along with a nice breakfast, and you get exclusive access to a Tignanello cellars tour... more
We selected this hotel per reviews on Trip Advisor, and were very happy with the accommodations. We stayed in the Vermentino room, which is a big-size apt. and quite spacious (see their website for pictures of room/hotel). It had a small kitchen with fridge and small living room. Definitely a bargain! The room was very clean and comfy. The breakfast... more
My wife and I were here in 2005 for on a wine and food trip through Tuscany. On that trip, we booked the apartment Dolcetto. I can highly recommend it! However, if you are dependent on things like room service, turn down and big fluffy towels replaced after each use, maybe not. Please don't misunderstand; this is a very nice... more
This property beautiful and we would definitely stay here again. We brought our two children ages 10 and 13 and they loved it too. It is a great location for exploring Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre (a little bit of a drive). We wanted a place in the country to stay in between our city stays in Venice and Rome and... more
My bride and I detoured into the Fonte De Medici for a couple of days on our honeymoor in July 2006. First, the facility and the countryside were beautiful. Indescribably beautiful. The location is in the middle of the Chianti Classico region. But...to be clear...it is in the middle of the vineyards. Once you arrive, you are isolated. The room... more
The location is close to Siena and Florence but way out in the country and smack in the middle of a vineyard. Be prepared for mosquitos and other wildlife (and I mean it, we saw a wild boar on the property, and foxes visited the patio restaurant every night to compete with the local cats for tidbits). But it was... more
We stayed in Fonte de Medici in July at the end of our honeymoon. It was really beautiful, the staff was very helpful , the views were wonderful and the room we stayed (Aglianico)was beautiful. It had a typical tuscan decoration and it was huge. It also had air-conditioning which was very important since it was really hot at that... more
We stayed at Fonte de Medici for three nights, at the conlusion of a multi stop, two week trip through Italy. It could not have been a more perfect choice and place to relax. The grounds and views are postcard like, as is the entire setting. The staff is very friendly, and complimentary red and white Antinori wines in each... more
Fonte de' Medici was the best find during our Tuscany trip. This hotel is a hidden gem. Fonte de' Medici is owned by the Antinori's. Everything that family does seems to be top shelf and it sure showed here. The grounds are more manicured than Disney World. Location is isolated but close to the main highway. A car is a... more
