Just returned home after a four night stay at this little oasis in the heart of Florence. When we originally tried to book some months ago, they didn't have a vacancy for one of our nights but then Nicole got in touch with us to say they'd had a cancellation so they would accommodate us. I already had a good... More

If you aren't a snob about places to stay, I would highly recommend staying at Sanctuary B&B. This little hostel/hotel type B&B is in the heart of Florence and your hosts, a group of nuns, are as nice as they come. The rooms are older and very simple, but gave me a great nights sleep. In the morning, the breakfast... More

My family of six stayed at the Suore Oblate dell'Assunzione 29-30 December. We had a double room which had wonderful Old World furniture and an attached bathroom. This room faced an interior courtyard and was very quiet. The four kids had a five bed room also with an attached bathroom but the furnishings were more standard of a dormitory. This room... More

We went to Florence last October 2012 as part of our Europe tour. We booked hotels along the same price range (60 to 120 euros per night) and were utterly disappointed with the room we got in B&B Firenze. First of all, we confirmed a booking for 3 people with an ensuite bathroom for 135 euros per night. When we... More

Hello LiziWizzie, Please know that we are very concerned about your description of poor conditions during your stay at Sanctuary B&B Firenze. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance as our convent is not only open for guests, but is primarily our personal home and house of worship, a sacred space that we keep serene and welcoming for all. Your experience... More

We stayed in this convent in September 2012 with two other couples. The rooms were very simple but adequate. Two of the couples had en suite toilet and shower facilities while one had to cross the hall to get to their bathroom. The nuns spoke little English but tried to be very helpful. If you have google translate on your... More

I highly recommend this location for lodging. It is easy to book a reservation in english through email with Nicole. Please note that some of the nuns only speak italian. We had a very pleasant stay. It was clean, safe and quiet. Although the rooms on the street side may be noisy. But, if you read reviews of other Florence... More

My husband and I stayed at this convent for 3 nights from 29th April. The taxi trip took about 15 minutes (sorry I can't remember the cost but it wasn't expensive). We later walked to Santa Maria Novella station but it would have been difficult walking with luggage on the cobblestones. The approach was via a very narrow street, with... More

The place was spotlessly clean and I had a room that looked into a beautiful courtyard garden. There was a large, clean bathroom with a great shower (not to be taken for granted!) across the hall. The building is really nice, with nice common areas, and it was very easy getting a reservation. I also liked the location, not right... More

Room Very Noisey , ( it was in front, room sat practically on street) but when you you ask for a quiet room they put you in the Back and the ROOM was like an Inferno HOT,HOT,HOT. They don't have fans so remember this when staying in summer

Run by a group of older nuns this is a clean, safe and basic place to stay. Set up like a dormitory (with a line of LARGE bathrooms at the end of the hall.. although I think some rooms have bathrooms ensuite). The location was 2 blocks from the Duomo and I walked every where. The 11 PM curfew was... More
