Finding La Martellina is not easy, but worth it! Claudio was a great host, and the Mill was very romantic. It was hot during August, and I recommend visiting Florence during a cooler time of the year. However, there was a nice breeze coming off the Arno most of the day. more

Within easy reach of Firenze, but a world away. Fabulous to spend the day climbing the duomo, perusing the ponte vecchio, wandering the Boboli gardens, then to hop on a bus and come back home to a gorgeous villa in a beautiful garden on the banks of the Arno. Also extremely convenient for doing a driving tour of Tuscan villages... more

La Martellina B&B was a gem from the hustle and bustle of the city of Florence. A bus ride away, the B&B was a great stay which gave us a taste of Tuscan life. Rooms were very clean, breakfast was amazing and the dogs (Emilio and Margerita) were very friendly. I would recommend this place for a lilttle peace and... more

We spent our honeymoon at Bed and Breakfast La Martellina, and we really enjoyed that time. Our room was beatiful, the hotel is quiet and comfortable, but it's near the city's historical center with bus. La Martellina's owner was really kind and helpful. We were very satisfied. more

Our stay at La Martellina was a wonderful break from the hustle of Florence. It's a beautiful site that overlooks the river (just like the pictures on the website) and the owner is a wonderful, outgoing gentleman. It's a 20min bus ride to the Duomo in Florence, making it an easy commute for sightseeing, which is how we spent our... more

We would like to express our thanks for kind and warm hospitality we received in the wonderful historical mill on Arno. Staying in La Martellina was really very pleasant for us and it was a great start of our holiday in Italy this year. The house was a perfect relaxation shelter for us after hectic and hot walks in Firenze... more

Claudio runs a great spot - away from the hussle of Florence and yet really easy to get into town by metro/bus (and we aren't bus people !!). This is a great hidden gem, I'd have no problem recommending it or staying there again. It was a very relaxing spot when we were there. Only thing was this August was... more

After reading the reviews on this website I was stoked to have the opportunity to go to this B&B. I thought it was going to be the highlight of my trip to Florence. But what I found what quite the opposite. The surroundings were beautiful yes but the actual accomodations less than satisfying. The host, Claudio did nothing to make... more

Our advise: Just book this and enjoy ! My wife, our daugther and I stayed for three nights in La Martellina. We had a wonderful time: quiet surrounding, beautifull house, good and clean beds and sanitary. Take bus 14 (at 100 m) and without stress you're in 10 minutes a the Duomo. Refrigerator, coffeebar, fresh fruits at breakfast, maps and... more

My cousin, brother and I recently stayed with Claudio on our trip to Tuscany. This B&B was one of my favorite parts of our trip. Claudio was very helpful and kind and did his best to make us feel comfortable. The B&B was clean and beautiful! And, what better way to wake up in the morning than to the sound... more
