We had a great time here. Chiugiana Castle House has just one unit, which is just inside the wall of what was a fortified village. The unit is quite large, with a large living room, a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Marco stocks the kitchen with milk, juice, fruit, cereal, etc. Windows look out though the village wall.
The owners often stay in another unit downstairs when there are guests. When Marco, the owner, discovered that we had no car (since I prefer not to drive in Italy) he insisted on taking us places in the morning. On different mornings, he drove us to Assisi, Deruta, Lake Transimeno, wherever we wanted to go. We would then catch a train and bus back.
I experienced only two downsides. The closest stores and restaurants are half a kilometer away. And there is a church right across the street, which rings its bells, which are even with the unit's windows, many mornings at 7:00.
