As Backpackers accommodation goes this is pretty good. Located in Basel's new cultural quarter, it provides a very imaginative re-use for a old industrial building. The place seemed clean and efficiently mananged. The staff seemed genuinely friendly and helpful without being officious - this in turn seems to create a laid back atmosphere. I enjoyed being able to put my feet up with a beer in the pleasant courtyard. The dormitory's are relatively spacious with the room divided by partitions and generous headroom between the bunks, each of which has an individual shelf and reading light. The free city transport tickets which are included in the rate are also a bonus and saves on potential hassle. If I had one criticism it would be the unisex toilets and showers - without going into too much detail, they're just too open! more
