The staff and owner are lovely people--and the rooms with toilets are quite nice. The rooms are very roomy for central Basel hotels (my third trip). It is very close to the University and a nice 15 minute walk to the town center. However, be sure to ask for a room with a toilet and shower in the room, since not all rooms have them and this fact was missing from the information on Expedia.
And the prices are only in Swiss francs (cash). They charge extra for both Euros (cash) and credit cards, something not mentioned in my booking. However, they are one of the cheapest places to stay in December in Basel and visit the crowded Christmas market. more
