We've been coming to Engelberg for a few years now (previously for skiing), and happened upon the Chalet Espen hotel a couple of years ago. It was a great find - really relaxing and comfortable. The chalet has just a few rooms so you feel like an honoured guest!

Our first visit was as part of a group in the 2007/08 ski season - the food and accommodation was fabulous and we were very well looked after. The bedrooms were very nicely furnished and the chalet has a lovely lounge and dining room with lots of space. Stayed in Chalet Espen with 8 adults and four kids in March 2008

Loved our stay with Simon and Katriona.

Simon even let's you share his Wireless Lan for those who can't get loose from their job, brought their laptop and HAVE to check their e-mail.. :-)

As for the meals, Katriona and Simon made me feel like I was with my aunt (who moved to England from Holland after the war and became a cook in a school). Not only because of the meals, because they were 'International', bit with different sets of meals for the kids.
No, because the High Tea was, offcourse, very British. And it is super to...
