This hotel is typical of a true European type of lodging.....no air-conditioning (fan in room), beds with mattress only (no bedspring), hardwood floors (no carpet).....The linens and toiletries were what are found in many European type hotels....very stiff linens, poor quality toilet paper; the soap and gels actually were nice. The staff was lovely and accomodating. It happened that we stayed when there was a heat wave - almost 90 degrees - rare for Switzerland. Had we not been so hot the lack of air-conditioning, etc. might not have bothered us so....Almost no hotels and very few of the restaurants in Lucern are air-conditioned, so do not visit in summer if you are used to a.c.! The hotel was clean and safe. The breakfast was lovely. The cost of any room in this country is high; this was not a cheap hotel! For the right person, it is fine. more
