The Belvedere is # 1 on Trip Advisor for a reason....this is a fantastic hotel! We are already planning a return visit to Switzerland next September. We will again visit Grindelwald, and can't imagine staying elsewhere...the Belvedere has won our hearts! Great hotel, great location, great staff, great food. Having said that, and this seems to be a Swiss thing, but the "double twin" bed arrangment is not great. The idea of seperate matresses with seperate comforters for each side kind of defeats the purpose of a cozy be for two. more

Wonderful review, thank you so much. The reason why our rooms have two mattresses is simple. For years, the majority of our summer guests have been Japanese. They did not accept any Queen or Kind Size beds. However we are changing that now. Some rooms will get new Queen or King Size beds. We have also bought some very small...

This was the 3rd time we had been back to this hotel (in summer), so you can guess it is one of our favourites as we picked it for our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel is perfectly situated for a summer break in the Bernese Oberland and the view across to the North Face of the Eiger is stunning. When looking for a hotel in Grindelwald we were constantly drawn to this hotel by other reviews, and we were not dissapointed. We love the type of seminars you joined. We used to host seminars of John Dessauer (he was on the Louis Ruykeser shows). The theme was stocks and money management. For each seminar 50 couples stayed a week with us and they took over the entire hotel. We organized a wonderful program for them, like visit on a farm, shows...

This was the third time we have stayed at Hotel Belvedere. It has one of the best locations in Grindelwald. The views toward the Eiger are beautiful. However our view is not only beautiful it is even spectacular, at least on the south side, there where you can admire the famous Eiger, the valley of Grindelwald and many other mountains....

We stayed here for 11 nights for the walks in the area and the idyllic setting. I booked a Wetterhorn view superior room as we thought the extra for an Eiger view was beyond our budget. The hotel welcome and all the staff are superb although sometimes the restaurant staff rank friendliness above prompt and efficient service at busy times.... more

We were allocated what is probably one of the best rooms in the hotel. On the fourth floor with outstanding views of the Eiger Nordwand: we could actually lay in bed and watch the ever changing panorama as the weather switched from brilliant sunshine to low cloud and back again. Spring, summer, autumn and winter, each season is attractive and in winter, 40% of our guests are non-skiers, enjoying the winter hiking trails, are tobogganing or just enjoy the wonderful fresh mountain air. My family has been going to Grindelwald and to the magnificent hotel Belvedere for the last 30 years at least. It's a great experience in the midst of one of the most beautiful mountain sceneries in the world and always worth to return.
