We have just finished a short weekend stay at this wonderful hotel. We can fully understand why it has its 5 star rating. The staff are incredibly welcoming and offer a five star service - nothing is too much and you are made to feel like you are the only people staying there! So many personal touches - sharing of the local beer, wine, cheeses etc. We were even fortunate enough to be upgraded due to it being the final weekend of summer season. What a lovely surprise and touch. We stayed on a half board basis and trust us it is worth it - the food is utterly delicious - all using locally sourced produce. The hotel itself feels a home away from home - perfect location up away from the main town yet close to the lifts and hiking routes. Added bonus is cute little Leo the dog. We will definitely be back - one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in for a long time! Don’t hesitate to book it you will not be disappointed.

Excellent hotel in every way. Staff, cleanliness, food, location, all perfect. A warm welcome from Christoph and Matthias who always had time to chat and ask about our day. Hotel is in Inner Arosa a little outside the main town but you are issued with an Arosa card on arrival which gives you free travel on all forms of transport. You are spoilt for choice on all grades of hiking from low level round lakes to high mountain peaks. A generous 4 course dinner and an extensive buffet breakfast is prepared by a chef who knows and loves his food. Have nothing but praise for this wonderful hotel.

This is a real gem of a hotel. A little out of the main town of Arosa but with the Arosa card supplied to all guests, which allows free travel on buses cable cars, gondolas and trains, it means getting around is no problem. Christoph and Matthias are most welcoming and all the waiting staff are very friendly and efficient. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout and the bedrooms are spacious and well equipped with lovely toiletries. Our room had a balcony which was ideal after a long day hiking in the amazing mountains. The food is exceptional with 4 varied and balanced courses every evening. The buffet breakfast had choices to suit all tastes. Best scrambled egg ever! Cannot fault the hotel at all.

First, let me praise the management. Christoph, Mathias, and staff have not missed a detail, whether it be guest service or quality of accommodations. They were always available, attentively ensuring every guest’s exceptional stay. We stayed in Hotel Stoffel’s Historic Room and it was exquisite. Swiss stone pine throughout the room. We felt like we were sleeping in an Alpine forest. Much appreciated after the Trans Atlantic flight. Lovely furnishings complimented the carved wood. The entire hotel was exceptional! Breakfast was more than satisfying with many organic items to choose from. Inner Arosa is a small step from Heaven. We hope to return to Arosa and Hotel Stoffel many more times. This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The whole staff team were so friendly and welcoming, especially Christoph and Marcus who were so attentive and a pleasure to chat to - especially when Christoph patiently allowed me to practise my German with him. The hotel is spotlessly clean and cosy and the food is delicious. We had the set menu each evening (after the first meal we had no desire to go anywhere else!) and the chef must be complimented on the high quality and presentation of each dish. I ate things I normally don’t enjoy, but this time they were great. Please consider making a recipe book for the dishes. Breakfast was also very varied and tasty with many home-made touches. We were given the Arosa Card on arrival, for free use of the local cable cars, and the bus service is also free. It was easy to explore the mountain paths and try out the cafes dotted around there, for lunch and coffees. Marcus, thank you for making sure I was comfortable reading in the cosy chairs, and Christoph, thank you for all your helpful tips that made our stay so great. We didn’t want to leave, and regret we had booked such a short stay on this occasion. Next time, we will stay longer - hopefully next year. Fingers crossed!

over charged for the wine. Double check your wine bill for ‘open wine’ Shame that after good food, you leave with a bad taste in your mouth when you are over charged. Ask exactly how much the open wine costs

We arrived before noon at the hotel and the first two sentences were: Your room will only be available at 15.00 and the second was: Can you please park your car differently. Not the warm welcome you would expect. The room was nice and the the location and view great. The breakfast not so much. The buffet was rather meager and first a long hair in the jam than anotherone in the müsli and two 3min eggs that were rock hard and uneatable spoiled our reakfast. And at the end we were informed, that we have to drive our car of the parking lot before we leave for skiing, because the next guests arrive before noon. (and the loading station for EVs costs, which is a bit nitpicking, but ok. But you would expect to be informed beforehand).

Oh. My. God. This was the most beautiful and most luxurious room we've ever had the honor of staying in. Hotel Stoffel is located at the upper edge of Arosa, so you have a great access to the Alps straight in the back yard. This room has the original wooden panelling from 1919, which looks stunning and smells great (the wood resin still emanating from it). The hotel gave us Arosa cards for the two days of our stay, which meant we could travel with all the gondolas in the town up to the various peaks (Hörnli Express is 5 minutes walk away). Dinner was exquisite nouvelle cuisine faire with a proper Alpine touch. Even the library in the room was great, being not just a random collection of left behind books but a genuine collection of literary and popular classics. One thing to keep in mind, as many people have already said: the four course nouvelle cuisine (small portions of exquisite taste) menu is the only option. However, the hotel is not far from town, if it's not for you then there are plenty of options within walking or bus traveling distance.

We went back to Arosa after many years to see how things had changed. We used to go there with our children in the 80’s and we were thrilled to see not much had changed. Being close to off season we took our chances and had not booked anywhere to stay. We came across Hotel Stoffel and thought it looked very inviting so went in to check on availability. Little did we know we had come across a wonderful place. From our beautiful room to all the warm and inviting public rooms we were in awe. Having worked in the hospitality business for many years we are quite picky, this hotel surpassed our expectations. Christoph and Marcus were wonderfully welcoming and made us feel quite at home. Dinner was a delicious experience and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Keep up the good work and if we ever get back to Arosa we will definitely stay again. View from our room looking at the little church above the ski school.
