I stayed in this small hotel over 20 years ago and remember enjoying it. This time I just walked up from train station and got a room for 3 nights. You get a good price if you book 3 nights. Couldnt believe it, still the same owners and reception area and breakfast room hadnt changed. The female owner Margaret is english and runs the hotel with her husband. I would go back just to observe Margaret - trying to uphold a posh Britishness in the middle of Switzerland. Very amusing to observe (I am Australian - so love observing the foibles of the English!!). Hotel has little touches like a "Library", really a small room filled with oriental knick-nacks and furniture containing a small selection of old novels. Room very fussy, frilly, flowery decor. Ancient lift, beautiful old staircase, knicknacks and pictures and plants. My advice, done take the lift, walk up the stairs. Little tables on each landing with magazines to read.
