First, Zermatt is wonderful and everything one would expect from a Swiss village. Yes, it is a tourist destination and it is expensive, but no more so than a Vail or Aspen, Colorado. Very similar, in fact. The hotel is nothing elaborate but it is decent. It is close to the railway and at the end of the main street.... more

people knock the hotel because it's so close to the trainstation, facing the Gornegrat rail. i personally didn't mind the noise at all. really quaint place and great location. places to avoid - Elsie Bar (high in the snob factor with ehh food) places to visit - Stockhorn grill (cute place, chateaubriand is GOOD) more

I and my husband were there in August 2004. It is a very good hotel. Very nice rooms with jacuzzi in all bathrooms. It is quite tucked in the corner but it shares common wall with gornergrat train station. Very good breakfast. It has a small bar. Service is commendable. more

Ok ' as I sit here writing from the lounge at the Hotel Tenne - my friends are downstairs enjoying the sauna and whirlpool. Skiing on the mountains has excellent conditions on the upper slopes - although you wouldn¨t ski back to town on your own skis. What is done with rentals is another story.
