The Welschen is a small, family-run hotel in a perfect spot, outside the centre of the town but a very short walk from the stations and with perfect views of the Matterhorn, given the right room. I was looking for a hotel away from the busy village streets and Hotel Welschen fit the bill. The Matterhorn view from our balcony room was picture perfect. The room itself was tasteful and updated. Hotel Welschen is a true little gem, run by a family with a lot of charm and heart. The rooms are of course clean, very cosy and picturesque, just what you expect from a mountain retreat. We visited Zermatt for four days and counldn't have been more pleased with Hotel Welschen. The view from our balcony was amazing and the property was cozy and quiet.
