I have been staying at Hotel de l'Ours over many years, since about 1996. It is quite a basic hotel but comfortable and the restaurant is really good. It is so easy to get around, either walking down to the city centre or going on trams all over the city including direct to the station. I find it friendly. It's best if you speak French, although some staff do speak good-enough English. Really good value for money. Can be a bit hot and noisy in the summer. I have recommended it to many friends and colleagues, mainly those working for Lausanne University as it is quite handy for that. more
