Neat little hotel. One of the cleanest I have ever stayed in and the staff is super. Only problem, if it is the warm time of the year, there is no air conditioning and at night you have to keep the windows open with most of the rooms over a small platz or outside tables of restaurants. Noise when it... more

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. We chose it for its location: walking distance to almost everything including a public indoor parking. It is located in a small alley in the heart of the "altstadt". It is closed to a large variety of restaurants: Italian, Swiss, Mexican, Turkish, Chinese, German, and yes, even McDonald's! There are also a... more

The hotel, we found, has two problems. The first is that there was a techno party going on in the square outside the window until 3 a..m. - I feel that the hotel ought to warn you when you book that it is in a noisy location. When we suggested this to the receptionist the next morning, and said that... more

A lovely and stylish hotel in the heart of Zurich. Rooms are not spacious but are spotless, comfortable, and smartly decorated. It's an easy walk to everything.... shopping, cafes, sites, the waterfront, you name it! The staff was pleasant and helpful. ~ Wash DC couple more

The hotel is in very central location. No complaints there. There's a lot of restaurants, strip bars, starbucks, candy shop and ice cream shop 5 meters away from the entrance.. The rooms are so small. and the closet is also so small.. just enough space to hang some clothes.. so we ended up not having our clothes on shelves.. but... more

The Franzikaner is really close to the Newmarkt area, full of bars and restaurants and maybe the liveliest part of the city at night. It is also close to the station and river. Rooms are all individually themed - mine was 'Feuer', I wasn't quite sure if I was going through the fire escape on opening the door but the... more

This is a comfortable hotel in the old town. We booked a superior double. The room was nicely decorated and was a good size. Breakfast is served in the reception area and it can get a bit cramped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Fairly noisy location but soundproofed window shut most of it out. more

The hotel Franziskaner in Zurich has nice rooms, they are very clean and the bathtub is really nice. It is a good 3 star. The service is not so good, I guess it is mostly students working at the reception. If you are afraid of elevators, don't book it, there is a small kind of old looking elevator which you... more
